Question about Honda CR-V

2 Answers

We own a Honda CRV 1995 model (Ive been told there is no 1995!, but thats the registration year). There is a group of three symbols on the left of the control panel. The oil, the battery and a third, which is the shape of a chain link with the top line having teeth on it. This unknown symbol came on during long distance driving and has not gone off. Can you please advise what it is and what it is indicating

The first response was it was likely our "check engine light" and scan the codes. There are no codes. This is an early model CRV. Can you at least confirm what the symbol is, and if it is an engine related - what is it likely to be illuminating for?

That guage is likely your check engine light. you can get the codes scanned at autozone for free (if you live in the states), you might be able to check the codes yourself by turning the key on and off three times ending with the key on.... count the times that light flashes. when you get to the code 55 (flashes 5 times twice) that is the end of the codes. that doesn't always work so don't panic if it does not. if it does give you the codes post them here and i'll let you know what they mean
