It could be the EGR valve and a bunch of other things. Your truck is new enough it supports OBD-II. You'll need to get the trouble codes read from the truck's computer and that will tell you more information about where the problem lies. Don't guess, get those codes and do a proper diagnosis. You can look up the codes at http://www.check-engine-light.com Good luck!

Mazda is the same as a Ford Ranger. There is a wiper relay under the dash that goes bad. It will work on fast but not slow or delay. Just take the cover off and follow the wires from the lever or switch on the column and they will lead to a box, which is the relay. Then the wires goes out to the motor. I had this problem on two trucks.
