Question about 1986 Chevrolet Camaro
I just bought a car with a kenwood stereo...they gave me the code.....but when power was unhooked...the code didnt turn it on.....how do i find the right code if it was wrong?
Most likely upon the power being unhooked if this unit was not equipped with a back-up power source or the back-up power source no longer held power then it could be that the unit has reset to a factory default code. Your best chance would be most likely to go to http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Contact/ and from there give as much information pertaining the radio's make and model to them and potentially explain whats going on. They could most likely be able to give you some idea's of what to try, or potentially give you the factory default code.
Another idea though is this. Was the radio working when you purchased the vehicle from them? Or did you not bother with testing it out to check that it works. It could simply be they let it go with the car because it no longer functioned for them, so it was of no use to them and they simply decided to let you deal with the issue.
