Question about 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE
Okay, so about a month and a half ago my ABS/Service Vehicle Soon/Trac Off light would come on and off again. My brake pads were wearing down and there was this sort of rubbing noise on my right front tire when i drive and gets louder when i turn right, but stops when i turn left. Anyhow, so my boyfriends father who has done all of their 4 cars breaks, and all that, He put in new break pads,(apparently i have disc breaks on all four wheels my boyfriend says[who helped him]), put in my new battery, and new rotors. they also tested all four calipers and they worked fine..But the rubbing still continued and the lights remained on. He tried to figure out the rubbing noise but he couldnt find any answer. Now within the last week or two the red BRAKE light keeps coming on. not allowing me to use cruise control on the highway. And just today it was on the whole time I was driving, I was going 50 mph when someone cut me off and I had to slam on my breaks and it caused me to do a complete 180. So im not sure if the emergency break is always on. But I pushed it down and it cant go down anymore. So can someone tell me whats up? Im a 19 year old broke college student that cannot afford to pay for a diagnostics and get fucked over because I have no idea.
