The air conditioner drain in my 2008 Toyota Yaris is not working. The carpet on the passenger's floor is saturated. There is also a "hissing or swishing" during a hard turn that may be related.

It seems that the drain is clogged. To clean it locate the interior end of the drain rubber pipe, remove it from the evaporator plastic casing, put a bowl under it and slide any hard wire, may be a hanger wire, inside out carefully not damaging the evaporator assembly and observe if the water starts coming out. If so, let the water drain out completely and put back the drain pipe securely.
If the problem persists, contact the car ac repairer.
Thanks

probably water that came in from the outside cabin air intake underneath the windshield and its running through the vent system draining out through the floor vents. run the blower on medium or high speed to help dry it out.

SOURCE: What would cause wet carpet and water on the passenger side floor

there is a leak because the foam has disintegrated, or the seal has broken open down by where the feet of the passenger is. Rust stains tell me that the leak may be caused by a break in the body somewhere.

Try spraying expanding foam in the area between the plastic and the metal parts to try to seal out moisture from coming into the passenger compartment.

Toyota 2008 highlander water on rear center passenger floor. A/C drain outside passenger side draining.Seems to puddle on rear floor when A/C is on high and recirculating fresh air. Any clue? problem?

For water to pool on the floor with AC on should indicate a plugged evap drain tube. The tube will have to be inspected for kinks and debris lodged in it. It may be draining some of the water but not enough.

Wet floorboard 2004 toyota highlander passenger side

Often the floor of the passenger side become wet if the drain pipe of the evaporator is:
- Bent or twisted.
- Clogged or,
- There is any obstruction in its routing.
The drain pipe is a rubber hose about 14 mm in diameter, located just under the evaporator (cooling coil) casing on the passenger side.
The most easiest way to clean the pipe is to take it out, wash it from inside with water or to blow a compressed air slowly through its distal end while leaving it in place under the body.
Note: Keep your eyes away while blowing the air.
Hope that it works.

What is leaking on the passenger side of 1997 range rover....

I have one of these, it did the same thing. I found the sun roof seal had gone hard ( due to the u.v from the sun ) and was not sealing properly.
Th drain hose from the cavity was blocked, the water ran down the door pillar and on to the fire wall and out behind the carpet.
Allso if the air conditioning condensation collector drain is blocked water will find its way the the carpet. the drain should empty to the ground.

How to fix leakage of AC on passenger side of Toyota Yaris 2008

It sounds like the evaporator drain tube is blocked or came off the duct inside, pull the carpet back and locate the rubber drain hose on the bottom of the evaporator housing, the hose should go through the firewall so water can drain out, the hose may have become disconnected before the firewall or it come off at the evap housing, pull the hose of the evaporator if water comes out make sure the hose goes out through the firewall and is not clogged.

I have an unseen leak soaking front passenger floor. When I took up the carpet the insulation under it was completely saturated.

Either your heater core is leaking, is the fluid sweet smelling and slimy? Or the condensation drain from your air conditioner is plugged causing the condensation to drain inside as opposed to outside. Or the glass seal is bad and rain water is coming inside from around the windshield. Heater core is going to need a repair guy, condensation drain can usually be fixed in about 5 minutes at any shop with a lift, glass leak you are going to need an auto glass shop's help.

Air conditioner leaks (drains)into the front passenger seat floor mat

The a/c drain tube will be located on the firewall. It will be on the passenger side twards the bottom of the firewall. It will be about 3/8 inch in diameter, and about 1-2 inches long sticking out of the firewall. You will probably need to get under the vehicle to gain acess.

Floor on passenger side gets wet when running air conditioner

I have a 2006 Fusion with the same issue and I fixed it for less than $2. There is a drain tube that goes from the passenger floor board out through the firewall to allow water to drain under the vehicle. However, water can travel along the underside and seep back into the vehicle. I went to a hardware store and bought a few inches of 5/8" tubing. I simply slipped this onto the drain and the water now flows down the tube and safely away from the interior of the car. Been dry ever since.
