Question about 1992 Ford Ranger
When i get to 100km/h the truck rpm stays at 2500 and wont shift into overdrive so the truck in hard on fuel on the highway. when i got the truck it shifted into overdrive just fine and the rpm were 1800 at 100km/h.
Your transmission is slipping

My truck is doing the exact same thing, and it also rough idles once in awhile...there seems to be a correlation between the rough idle and days the transmission won't shift properly. I'm certain there is more to it than simply saying it's slipping. It doesn't do it all the time. I'm not sure if it has a locking torque converter, but that is what it acts like. That once it shifts into overdrive (I count, and it does shift into overdrive), it doesn't lock the torque converter...
