Question about Mercury Sable
I have a 1999 Mercury Sable GS that overheats. I thought I'D change the thermostat but I don't know if I have a DOHC or OHV. How do you tell? Also any tips on changing the thermostat? I'm a novice mechanic but if I can see it I'll try it.
If it's a V6 then it would be a Double Over Head Cam... Thermostat will be on top of engine where coolant outlet to upper hose is located... Hope this helps...;-)

It should say on the side of the car between the front tire and drivers door or on top of motor
