I have a 1999 dodge caravan, with 103,000 miles on it. the motor just froze up i guess i turn the key over and just hear click. I think the motor needs to be rebuilt, but was wondering if there is any other fixes for this problem.
It could be a bad starter or even sometimes a bad battery connection (or starter connection for that matter). Here's how to check if your motor is locked up. Turn the wheel all the way to the right. Look behind the right front wheel and you should see a round or oval shaped plug in the plastic splash shield that protects the motor. Pop that thing out and you should see the head of a bolt. The size varies depending on what motor you have. Put a socket on there and try to turn it CLOCKWISE. If you find yourself straining so bad you accidentally poop yourself and that thing doesn't budge, it's locked up. They usually turn over fairly easily if there's nothing wrong, though it will tighten up a bit as you approach a compression stroke. I hope this works and with a little luck, you'll find out it's just a starter or something. Please rate me.

Probably easiest thing to do now would be to get a 1/2" drive ratchet or 1/2" drive bar with socket right size for bolt in center of crankshaft pulley and try to turn it over by hand. Then go from there.

I just bought it, from a guy who said it was knocking but ran and was sitting up for about 6 months, so i put a new battery in it and tried to crank it but nothin happned it just went "click"it has a 3.3 liter v6 and its a SE model
motor 1258 is correct, it could be something much simpler than a engine rebuild. Did you drive this car at all after purchase, or the new battery and click happened at time of purchase? Make sure your connections to the battery and starter are clean and tight. If they are, pull the starter and bring it to a parts store where they will check it's operation for free.
replay with what engine you have also will you.
Could be something as simple as a starter, or relay etc., problem. What leads you to think motor is seized? Have you had problems in past?
