How do i know if my fuel pump is bad on my 1995

Well that could be a indication of a bad fuel pump, but it could also be a bad or clogged fuel filter, or even a really needing a tune up... When was the last time you changed the plugs and wires? I would do that before I ever got into the fuel pump issue... You can have the pump pressure tested. Do the plugs and wires, next do the fuel and air filters... when it is acting like it does not want to start, have someone or your self go to the battery and feel the red wire, if it is getting hot, you have a loose connection. check your hot and ground connetions.

Engine Malfunction

I have a 95 Jetta and had the same problem. My alarm kept taking over my car preventing it from starting. I paid to have the alarm removed and now no problems.
