Yes it does. It is supplied by a chamber in the brake master cylinder reservoir itself.
Here is a pic of it.

What kind of fluid & where do i fill it for the clutch

Most hydraulic clutch systems have a small reservoir near the brake master cylinder that uses DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid. Some systems, however, use the brake master cylinder for the clutch fluid supply.

I have a 2000 mercery cougar 5speed v66 and when I try to put it into any gear all I hear is grinding it happens as I was driving all at once

Sounds like your clutch is not fully disengaging when you press the pedal down. If it's hydraulic it could be low on fluid or leaking. If it's a cable it could need adjustment.

Replace clutch hydraulic

Replace them both, the clutch master cylinder and the slave cylinder. New clutch fluid, bleed the slave cylinder, and clutch should be back.

Cluch does not bite until my foot is nearly off the pedal a new clutch kit was fitted 6 months ago covering only about 6000 miles

This happens with heavy duty clutches, when there is air in the clutch hydraulic lines. Firstly bleed the clutch lines and see what happens.

There is a hydraulic clutch in my 2001 cougar and it doesnt seem to be ingaging the gears properly. do you know what could be wrong.

You need to check and see if the reservoir is full of fluid. If its low, it may have cavitated and drawn air into the system. If its low it is leaking out of the master or slave cylinders, the seals are going bad in either the master cylinder on the fire wall or the slave cylinder at the bellhousing.
First thing to check is the reservoir level.

Well I have a 2000 Mercury Cougar 2.5L V6 DOCH engine 5 speed and I know its a hydraulic clutchsystem it has,but the problem Im having is getting the car into gear when the car is on, I feel the clutch...

either you have air in the hydraulic lines or there is a problem with the final linkage. Is the slave leaking? Have you had to add fluid to the reservoir? Was the reservoir ever found empty? If yes, fix leak and bleed system. If no, problem is probably in the fianl linkage after the slave. Slave my be loose or linkage worn out? Let us know what you find and if you need more help.

How do/can you adjust clutch?

The clutch on the cougar is hydraulic and is self adjusting the closest thing to do is bleeding the clutch to make sure there is no air in the line that can cause the clutch to not fully engage. if the clutch is slipping you more than likely are going to have to replace it. however if the car is off and you can't go through all the gear your shifter cables may need adjusting. Btw, whatever you do not use ATF in your MTX75 tranny!!!! its bad you need to be on ford honey its about 15.00 a qt or the next best thing is royal purple. any questions feel free to contact me jarochodveracruz@hotmail.com

How do I check the clutch fluid to a 1999 Mercury Cougar 4cyl

The brake master cylinder reservoir has a separate chamber and is used to supply the hydraulic clutch system. So make sure master cylinder reservoir is full.

Here is a pic of the system.

2.Clutch master cylinder
