It is very simple and straight forward which part are you having a problem with it is located on the passengers side toward the front of the engine compartment has total of 4 hoses one coming from the tank to the filter, one going from the filter to the pump, those two you do have to remove, and reinstall , but the other two you can leave on the plastic T connector just remove the slip and pull the connector up and then undo the screw that holds the filter down install the new filter and then fill the new filter with clean diesel fuel very slowly as the fuel has to soak into the media in the filter then reattach the T connector and start the car that should be it, might sputter a bit while the air is worked out of the system.good luck

Where is the fuel filter located on a 2001 Hyundai elantra

That fuel filter is in the fuel tank, attached to the fuel pump. Not a very difficult job. Remove the rear seat cushion, then remove the access panel to the pump. Remove the gas cap to relieve any pressure. Remove the ground wire and fuel lines, then remove the filter.

Instructions to replace fuel filter of a 1994 Mitsubishi Expo LRV

Relieve the fuel rail pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse, then cranking the engine for a few seconds until it is clearly not receiving any fuel. Next let off the pressure in the fuel tank by removing then replacing the fuel filler cap. Next unfasten the special connectors which join the fuel line to either side of the fuel filter and disconnect the lines, keeping a rag handy to catch the fuel which will spill out of the lines and filter. Remove the fuel filter mounting bracket bolts/screws then replace the filter. Reassembly is the reverse of removal.

How do i change the fuel filter in my 1985 cadillac deville (gasoline)

FUEL INJECTED ENGINES The fuel filter on fuel injected vehicles may be located in one of two locations. On all 1976–79 vehicles except the Seville, the filter is mounted in the engine compartment near the fuel pump. On the 1976–79 Seville, and all 1980–85 vehicles, the fuel filter is located on the left side of the chassis just ahead of the rear axle. On 1986–89 vehicles, the filter can be found near the frame, in back of the left front wheel. There are two types of fuel filters used on the gasoline fuel injected vehicles, the one-piece disposable inline filter, used on all 1982–86 250 and 1988–89 273 V8 engines, and the replaceable element type filter used on all the other engines. CAUTION
Fuel is under high pressure: if the steps below are not followed, the fuel could spray out and result in a fire hazard and possible injury.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2. Release the pressure from the fuel system:
    • Without pressure fitting: Cars without a pressure fitting in the fuel line, cover the fitting to be removed with a shop towel while loosening so that fuel will be absorbed. Dispose of gasoline properly.
    • With pressure fitting: Locate the pressure fitting in the fuel line and remove the protective cap. Loosely install a special valve depressor (G.M. tool no. J-5420) on the fitting. Wrap a towel around the fitting to block any spray and slowly tighten the tool until the pressure has been relieved.
  3. Replace the filter as follows:
    1. On the replaceable element type filter; the fuel filter element is replaced by unscrewing the bottom cover and removing the filter element. Replace the element and gasket with an AC type GF 157 or equivalent. Hand tighten the bottom cover.
    2. On the in-line disposable type filter; the fuel filter canister is replaced by loosening the fitting on the end of the filter, then use a pair of pliers to expand the clamp on the other end and slide it down past the point where the hose extends over the inlet of the filter. Gently twist and remove the hose, unscrew and remove the fitting. Remove and discard the old filter. Install the new filter into the hose and replace the clamp. Reinstall the fitting, and check for leaks with the engine idling. NOTE: A dry fuel system on cars equipped with EFI/DFI may require a substantial cranking period before starting. Be sure to crank the engine in short bursts, allowing time for the starter motor to cool between each burst. Replace fuel filter

The fuel filter is located near the rear of the vehicle, forward or rearward of the fuel tank, depending upon application. There is no service interval for fuel filter replacement. The filter only is replaced if it becomes restricted.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION Relieve the fuel system pressure at the shrader valve on the fuel rail. For details regarding this procedure, please refer to Fuel System of this information.
  1. If not done already, disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  3. Clean both fuel feed pipe connections and the surrounding areas at the in-line fuel filter with a clean rag to avoid possible contamination of the fuel system.
  4. Using a backup wrench, remove the fuel line fittings from the fuel filter. Most of the models fuel gilter wrench sizes will be 16mm and 20mm.
  5. Either disconnect the quick-connect fittings by pushing inward toward the filter and grasping the plastic tab around the connector and pull them apart. Or remove the fuel filter mounting screws, then remove the filter from the vehicle.
  6. Discard the fuel line O-rings and replace with new ones during installation.
To install:

Install new O-rings to the fuel line fittings.
Connect the fuel lines to the fuel filter.
Position the filter in the same position it was during removal. Using a backup wrench, tighten the fuel lines to 20-22 ft. lbs. (27-30 Nm).
  1. Install the fuel filter mounting screws if used.
  2. Lower the vehicle. Install or tighten the fuel filler cap, then connect the negative battery cable.
  3. Start the engine and check for leaks. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position for two seconds.Turn the ignition to the OFF position for ten seconds. Turn the ignition to the ON position. Check for leaks.
