HI. this means Mass Air Flow sensor. It is attached to the air cleaner assembly. it simply observes the airflow that is being fed into the intake manifold.

Fault p0100 on a ford fiesta zetec keeps coming up but don't stop the car running right

P0100 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Malfunction. Basically this means that there is a problem with the Mass Air Flow (MAF) ..sensor. The MAF sensor may be dirty or bad. You can go to any auto parts store and buy a can of MAF sensor cleaner, Do not hit the fine wires with the straw from the can. The directions are on the can. Good-Day! Most MAF sensors are in the air tube, from air cleaner to the throttle body.

Hi my ford fiesta zetec 2001 as a fuilt code p0100 can eny one help with this please

Basically this means that there is a problem with the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor or circuit. Other MAF sensor circuit DTC trouble codes are P0101, P0102, P0103,PO104.You may not notice any serious drivability problems, although there may be symptoms such as a general decrease in power or sluggishness.
A code P0100 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • The MAF may be disconnected, or a wiring connection may be bad
  • the MAF hot wire that is in the air flow maybe dirty
  • The MAF sensor may be faulty
you can clear the code and see if it returns if you have not tried that yet. then try the following.Verify that the Mass Air Flow Sensor wiring is connected properly and that there are no broken / frayed wires.Unplug and reconnect the MAF wiring harness.Check the voltage of the MAF sensor (refer to a repair manual for vehicle specific information). if this indicates the MAF sensor then replace it.

My mom has a 2003 ford windstar and just last week the check engine light came on. We took it in to have it looked and it came up with the codes PO171 and PO174, what can those codes mean?

it means you may have a big vacuum leak, or the maf sensors little wires inside of it are dirty and need to be cleaned, or the maf sensor failed. Also there is a TSB that says to remove the PCV valve on the valve cover near the radiator, Then remove the little rubber grommet and look inside. At about the 5 oclock position you may see a little hole on the plate that is above the valves . If you see the hole then your suppose to replace the valve cover.
If all this fails to fix the problem then you need to remove the intake plennun and inspect and replace the gaskets.
