The radiator drain fitting is located at the lower left corner (driver side) of the radiator, under the car.

Where is the radiator drain for 2005 ford focus

Yours is Located on the DRIVERS SIDE FACING the Engine and Just ABOVE its RUBBER RESTING MOUNT. This is Visual only after REMOVING the UNDERGAURD SHIELD, (PLASTIC) Some are MUCH more Difficult to Access than the LOWER RADIATOR HOSE, Thus Making the Radiator Hose the BETTER Choice in Draining the Cooling System. Using a LARGE DRAIN PAN I Find it EASYER to Use the Lower Hose for Draining the System.

What engine coolant do i use for a 2000 for focus

It does not matter which coolant you use in this system, as long as you do not mix the two different types. If you are just adding coolant to the existing coolant, if it is green in color use regular antifreeze/coolant, reddish/pink use extended life coolant. If you are not sure, I recommend draining the system, flushing with water and then adding whichever type you choose.

Can't find coolant drain plug

It should be on the passenger-side of the bottom of the radiator, facing the rear of the Focus. If not you will need to remove the lower radiator hose.

this is the same for most cars, follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the engine, it should connect to a metal fitting that bolts the the engine, have a drain pan ready underneath and remove those bolts, the thermostat should be underneath that metal fitting.

Thermostat instalation

lets first check the COOLANT level.
then check the coolant bypass valve located in the coolant line itself.
Afterwards we can come to the thermostat.
