I have a 2004 F150,To open the hood takes two people, one to pull the handle inside and one to pull up on the hood.
How can I adjust this to be a one person operation?
whilst the bonnet is open (hood in your language :)
look at the latch mechanism whilst somebody inside car pulld lever, see if the latch is being pulled all the way out,... check this by pushing it further with a tool (screwdriver etc, this will tell you if cable is prob.)
if that seems ok. try
there should be a couple bolts holding the latch mechanism on, loosen them and tap it a little... the whole mechanism should move, re-align it visually so that the pin from the bonnet doesn't touch the body of the mechanism when closing... tighten bolts.

Have someone press down on the hood with their palms while you try and release it, if it does open lube the hood latch with white lithium grease AKA "Lubriplate".
you can use needle nose pliers pull the hood release cable on inside car where cable broke from handle.needle nose pliers will help you enough to pull cable to open hood so you can replace fix hood release handle and cable.
Ford has the worst adjustable hood adjusters. they tend to break on all models vehicles made making the hood difficult to open.Have someone pull and hold the release handle out while you push on one corner of the front of the hood to see if it will open. Try the other side if the one side will not open at first
So I gather that the release inside the car has release the hood's primary catch, but the T handle is not release the secondary catch to allow the hood to fully open.
If this is the case, take some lithium grease or WD-40 (lithium grease is much better and lasts much longer) and spray it onto the catch assembly.
Try pulling on the T handle some more after a few minutes of the grease soaking in and see of that releases.
If that doesn't work, then take a long flat screw driver and press it against the catch gently hit the screw driver with a hammer (you should be trying to push the catch towards the driver's side of the car) You may need someone to be pulling on the T handle as you hit the catch with a hammer. I actually had to do this with a jetta before....
you have a short to ground or excessive current draw. measure this with Amp meter. pull fuses until amperage drops then look at what circuit is causing current draw to find fault
Will start simple:
If the handle is broken inside car, find cable end pull with pliers, the handle is replaceable by itself from dealer or junkyard.
If you are pulling handle and hood will not pop up, have a helper pull up on front of hood and lightly bump down on hood near the latch with their hand or fist(careful not to dent) while you pull on handle and it should popup, now lube it before you close it, the hood may then need to be opened and closed several times to work lube into latch(this sticking is common when latch system is not lubricated regularly).
If the before mentioned does not work...the cable could be detached at latch which is usually caused by: lack of lubrication and/or trying to open hood in winter after going through carwash.
Now things get trickier and you're best finding a shop that can raise the car up so that they can jimmy it from below.
on the left side of the drivers side their is a panel with the hood release
Pull off the cover of the hood release and you will see a cable connected to the hood release. take some pliers and give it a good pull.
if you dont hear a click, have someone pull the hood up while you pull on the hood release cable. next their will be little space to take off the grille for easier acces.
take off the grille carefully by prying it off carefully on each side. push the grill up and pull it towards you going up then down.
Now all you have to do is stick a flathead screwdriver or philips. and on the bottom of the hood release on the hood stick the screwdriver under the release and push the screw driver down while pushing the hood up.
between the hood and grill the handle on the outside should be pulled up toward the hood lift the hood as you are pulling on the outside handle at the same time.thanks jeff
It is all good, I believe the cable is too long but I do not know how to adjust it
