Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine that is the thermostat housing when the car is completly cold remove the upper hose and then the housing remove the gasket and thermostat replace with new one and reinstall in reverse order then fill radiator and let the car run with the radiator cap off untill the thermostat opens then top off the system with antifreeze and close radiator cap and let it run and check for leaks

I have a 2003 Ford Taurus I just replaced the radiator and reservoir a new thermostat and it's leaking water what could this be now...oh yeah and replaced the motor transmission fliter

Most likely a loose hose clamp or loose bolts/ bad gasket at the thermostat housing. Is the petcock closed at the bottom of the radiator?

1995 taurus overheats while driving

Either Thermostat is sticking or water pump is going bad. Water pump usually spit out water through small hole of diaphram. Only way to check thermostat is pull it out. Then you might as well replace it.

OK i have a 92 ford Taurus it is having a over heating problem i have changed the thermostat twice in two weeks its blowing cold air when i turn the heat on so what do i do????

Dd you check for a leak? did you know if the inside heater cooling panel it is connected to the cooling syst. (it seems like be damaged).
In other order the over heating problem could become from bad signal from cooling sensor located closer to the thermostat, did you changed? this sensor sends signal to the computer to starts the cooling fan located at radiator avoiding over heating problems!

1992 Ford Taurus with a 3.8l V6 the cooling fan

The Taurus has Two temp sensors. One for the dash, which is isolated, then one for the PCM, it also controls when the fan relay should actuate. Its a 2 wire sensor, just above the thermostat. If you remove the harness from that sensor, and the cooling fan comes on, at any temp, (should take 5- 10 seconds) then thats your fault.

1992 Ford Taurus Overheating

Thermostat is faulty.
It can be found by grabbing the top radiator hose and following back to the engine. The housing this hose is clamped to is the thermostat housing. Remove the 2 bolts, and the cover o reveal the thermostat.
It should cost less than $20 for a thermostat and gasket.
Replace it and your overheating isues will go away.
