Intermittent wiper, turn indicator, rear screen demister not work

1996 C-180 manual saloon. Over a few months there has been an internittent problem with the turn indicators and intermittent wipers not working. When this happens, the indicator light in the heated rear screen glows faintly. When the indicator light is off all works normally but when the indicator light is on the intermitten wipers and turn indicators again do not work. The problem has progressivley worsened has now seems to have become permanent. It sounds like a faulty earth to me but I would like to know 1. what common wiring there is for these three components and 2. Is there a simple re-earthing I could carry out to attempt to rectify the problem?

It was one of the relays located in the engine compartment relay box, LHS as you stand facing the front of the vehicle, just in front of the windscreen. Largest relay located on RHS front of the relay box. This was found to be loose - re-seated it and problem disappeared.

Electrical problems are rife in these models. Try replacing the relevant relay box - a black box situated in the fuse box bay. This will hopefully solve your problem. Good luck!

Fitted smart lock module under dash now want to reset remote on au falcon

The official workshop manual Suggests:
  1. Close the doors.
  2. Turn the ignition key to the accessories position.
  3. Within 5 seconds of turning the key, hit the rear demister button (center console) three times in succession.
  4. The door locks will cycle once to indicate the special mode has been entered.
  5. Press any button on the remote you wish to program.
  6. The doors will cycle to indicate a new remote has been programmed.
  7. Continue steps 6 and 7 for all remotes (including existing ones) you intend to use on the vehicle.
  8. When you've programmed all the remotes, turn the ignition key off. The doors should cycle again to indicate the programming session has been completed.

Hatchback (the boot opens with the glass) has a rear wiper
Saloon (has a small boot) does not have a rear wiper

Sounds like you have a Saloon

Hi, my car, a toyota caldina, has three buttons on the dashboard that i don't understand. One button has a sign of a windscreen with a wiper and current going through it with an ON light indicator. Another...

on a 1997-2002 caldina G, GT, GTT..

One is the rear demister (front demister is in the center console with the heater). But it could also be the windscreen cleaner pump, if you mean on the stalk. (up, front window, down, reap window).

One is the fog lamps if fitted

The last is an inverter buit into the car so you can run 100Volt domestic devices (like laptops/shavers and stuff). I think the japanese have 100 volt domestic power. You'll find the *** power socket on the back of the centre console under a little hatch, easiest to see from the back seat. Mostly you want it turned off.

1999 dodge caravan intermittent instrument cluster

This Seems Indicative Of a Poor Connection AT The CLUSTER Or A Junction Connecter Close to the Cluster. This is Assuming you Have Ruled OUT ALL ABS COMPONENTS, LOOK at These VERY CLOSLY Because of the Small Volts These Wires Carry , the SMALLEST DEFECT WILL Cause this Type of Symptom that you have given. Please try all of the Above, I feel Confedint that athis is where your Problem Is.

Honda Accord Saloon 2001 Windscreen Wipers : Intermittent wipe no longer works - Goes on to normal wipe Wipers do not stop when shut down. - Require to turn off ignition to stop them

2 things.

1 bad connections on the motor itself under the skuttle panel below the window screen.

2 the stalk from the steering wheel is broken, they have small metal parts inside they sometimes come lose and stop working, just replace it.

Instructions for turning on back screen wiper on Ford mondeo 1.8

2 ways this could work. 1 is by pushing the wiper switch towards the dash.

2nd is when you pull the lever towards you, it will turn the intermittant wipe on, pull it towards you again to cancel.
