Question about 1996 Lincoln Town Car

1 Answer

All the lights on my Climate Control panel for my 1996 LTC.Sig. are working: max-ac/norm-ac/floor-def/defrost.The two in the middle are not,VENT and Floor. Could it possibly a fuse promblem? If so,I don't see anything obvious. Thanks ! Chris Jones

This could be possible fuse problem, on the the connections. better check the switch wire continuity to check if you have a problem on the fuse.

also better check the swithc and the wiring.

Hope this initial info/idea helps.

Almost sounds like the actuators are inop. depending on which style you have, some are electrical motors and some are vacuum. These control the mode doors which move to deflect air to various vents.

if it was a vacuum leak it would not do it intermittently, first you should replace your blower motor resistor to correct the only working on high fan speed and the reevaluate the a/c it could be affecting the climate control

Is there a clicking sound coming from the center of the dash at the bottom of the windshield? If so, it is the blend door motor which changes from heat to a/c. It requires the removal of the dash to replace it, It could be a vacuum leak under the center of the dash above the floor hump

You have a vaccum leak on the mustang. Unsure of the Contour.. I believe it is the middle hose where the three fittings are (right in front of the driver seat in the engine compartment) Mustangs are notorious for vaccum leaks there
