Question about 1997 Geo Metro

2 Answers

I have a 1997 geo metro. I need to replace the bulb in the back

I'm trying to remove the outer lens. I unscrewed the two screws from one side but the other side of the lens won't come off. There are no screws on that side. How do I remove the lens on that side to replace the bulb? Thank you

If it is the taillight  you are talking about then it is bolted on from the inside at the outer edge. if it is the headlight you are talking about then it is olso screwed on from the bottom

On a 97 metro all of the light assemblies must be removed for their bulbs to be changed. That said, the taillights are mounted with two phillups screws at the trunk lid/hatch edge, and with another nut on the inside right at the side of the car (you must remove the trunk liner/trim panel to get at it); the combination headlamps are mounted with a phillips screw at the top (toward the side of the car) the inner side (toward the other headlight) and underneath. Unfortunately if the lower mount is done with a phillips screw then you must remove the bumper to get at it; if it is mounted with a hex bolt then a ratchet can access it from under the car. All of the light bulbs are mounted into the reflectors with a wired holder that comes out when you twist it to the right except for the headlight bulb which has this spring-clamp thing which unhooks and swings out (but you must unplug the headlight - pulls straight out WITHOUT TWISTING - first). The headlight bulb is also held in by a weather seal and lock ring (which also turns to the right).

Check the back of the light housing, alot of the lights that have replaceable bulbs have a twist and lock release on the back. The whole bulb housing and wires will twist and come out

Removed all screws from my geo metro radio.cant find anything holding it.won't come out

Hi,

Normally there is another screw or connections towards the back. Under the steering wheel, remove the panel near the stereo. Also, remove the panel on the right side as well. This will give you access to the rear of the stereo and you will see another screw.

How to remove the rear bench seat from a 1997 Geo Metro?

at the base of the seat down were the floor meets the seat check to see if there are 2 bolts one on either side of the seat about in the area of wear you would sit(not in the center or outer edge of seat)by the floor.if so remove the bolts and lift the seat up and out.if not the in the same area were the bolts would be push down on the forward part of seat and lift outwards away from the rear of the car a bit and the seat lock should release the seat and lift up and remove.the backrest of the seat should be bolted to the the steel framing of the car then lift the seat back straight up and off the hooks.

Turn signals dont work 97 Geo Metro

There is probably something shorting the front turn signal wires; the car is supposed to turn the signal light circut on and leave it on if it detects a burned out light bulb. The flashers, however, are supposed to work normally no matter what happens.
Hope this helps!
