That's normal the car has a pressure regulator on it and when the pressure is right it will cycle the pump off when the pressure drops it will cycle back on

I have a 2002 holden rodeo 3ltr turbo diesel that just stopped while driving how do you check to see if it is the pump or just blocked lines

Just to start with the basics make sure their is fuel in it ... somtimes when these trucks run out of fuel you have to add more then 5 gallons to get the fuel high enough to run over the internal cup that the fuel pick up tube sets in 1 or 2 gallons is not enough to do this . Then have some one try starting the truck while you remove the fuel cap and put your ear to the fill tube for the gasoline you should be able to hear the fuel pump run because it is located inside the fuel tank . If you don't hear the pump running you can try hitting the bottom center of the fuel tank with a heavey blunt object ( block of wood ,Baseball bat ect.) nothing that has a sharp edge . Do this while some one is cranking ( turning the key to start the truck) this somtimes will free the pump up and it will start working again . If it starts then you know the pump is bad . Somtimes when the pump frees up they work again for weeks or months but it not good to take that chance and break down on the highway. Replace the pump and filter .

Start up and die

If it will eventually start and run, I would check the fuel pressure at startup. The fuel pump relay provides power to the pump for 3 or 4 seconds and if the computer does not "see" oil pressure it will not continue to power the pump. That is to prevent a fire in a wreck.

Engine will not run, it starts and stalls. when cold it somtimes run ok till it warms up then stalls. replaced both o2 sensors , no change????

SCAN IT FOR IDLE SPEED CONTROL PROBLEMS.BUT OTHER POSSIBLE CAUSES TO YOUR STALLING IS BAD PLUGS AND WIRES CLOGGED FUEL INJECTORS AND CLOGGED FUEL FILTER.IF ALL IS GOOD HAVE FUEL PUMP FUEL PRESSURE CHECKED IT SHOULD BE 41- 47 PSI.

I have a problem with my golf 2.0 gti tdi annevercery 2002. there seems to be no fuel geting to the engine and when the car starts after 6 or 7 turnes it seem the engine is running off the oil and there in...

Did you replace the fuel pump with a NEW fuel pump, or a used one?
Get in the car, insert key and turn to "On". Do not attempt to start. Do you hear the fuel pump run for a few moments? Try it a few times, starting the car each time after you hear the fuel pump run. If the fuel pump does not run, then chances are, it's a bad fuel pump.
It could also be the fuel pressure regulator, located on the fuel rail.

Your statement about the oil is confusing.
