Question about 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier
When you install new fuel injectors or are replacing the o rings, apply some lubricant to the o rings to allow for easy installation. I like to wet them with PB Blaster before I put them on the injectors. Also before you remove the injectors, blow out the area around each injector and the whole top of the engine with compressed air through a narrow wand (it gives you a very high velocity air blast that will remove all the impurities from the injector areas to keep them from getting into the engine when you pull out and install the o rings. I like to start at one side of the engine and work my way to the other and after that do a good overall blasting of the engine with compressed air to make sure all the sand and whatever else is out of where you are working. (Be sure to wear safety goggles when doing this procedure and at all times when working on a vehicle). When installing injectors, be sure to have all of them lined up with the holes and press evenly and firmly (you may have to wiggle the fuel rail a bit to get the injectors to go into the holes). Be sure to install all the fuel rail bolts and tighten them to specification. Turn the key on but do not start the engine to verify the injectors are not leaking. If you still have a leak, you may have a cracked injector body or a seal leaking on an injector.
Hope this helps

To free a sticking injector take a socket/ratchet extension and place it on top of the injector then tap it (not too hard or you'll break the plastic top) with a hammer. It usually works. Tap a little harder if necessary. Just don't crack the plastic.
