Your transmission is sealed and has no dipstick for a level check, all models of VW and Audi are this way, this started in the late 90's, why did they do this? VW/Audi don't want owners overfilling there transmission's, if the fluid is not at 95-113 Degrees Fahrenheit then you can overfill thinking the level is low and not taking expansion into account.

Its got a filler level plug on the gearbox sump pan a computer is needed to measure gearbox oil temperature remove the plug with the oil at 30 centigrade you need 1 drip every 10 seconds.

My vw caravelle 2000model jeks in the 2nd and 3rd gear,high oil consuption,i opened the engine ,check the piston rings and the valve springs they look ok,spark plugs is ok,valve are ok,what might cause...

Maybe you are loosing oil into the flywheel which might be causing the clutch to slip? Have you checked if there is evidence of oil at the engine/gearbox mating area? Hope this helps.

check gearbox oil level ,,,,start engine and put in reverse with handbrake on and a couple of big bricks behind wheels and check level .Have a spare manual box in garden
