Question about 1997 Pontiac Sunfire
Remove fuse for Airbag, and remove complete dash @ passenger. you will find the mounts to remove.
driver: remove fuse(s) remove steering wheel on back of steering wheel, mounts are there for airbang (same as passenger)

I assume you mean drivers air bag. Disconnect battery. There are 2 screws in the back of the wheel center plastic I believe 8mm. Undo both screws and the bag will lift out to wires. Then just disconnect the bag wire and the horn wire plug and the bag is out. There is a safety clip that needs to pop out before the bag wire will disconnect. If you are familiar with doing this a bag removal taks 5 minutes.

Hello oldiro: My name is Roger and I can help. From under the vehicle look up between the transmission and the side of the block. Mid motor above the pan rail there is a bolted in sensor. This should be the crank sensor.It will have two wires plugged in to it. Please rate this answer as this lets us know you received the information you asked for. there is a steel pipe that runs across the motor there, they are prone to corroding and leaking, you might get away with cutting it and bridging with a piece of hose but the best bet is to replace it. We have been lucky a couple of times and found a car in the wreckers that had newish ones fitted.

When jumped off ,if it drags to start,have the starter checked,and if when jumping the car off,the starter turns the engine over real good,then the cables are most likely the problem,replace them.
