There has to be a fuse related to the power windows, check the owners manual. it may reside in a secondary panel in the engine compartment.

Do you have the owners manual?

if so the fuse panel will be better explained in it, the map in the dash is usually abbreviated to get as much info as they can into a small space.

Also check for a related relay in the power distribution block. There are usually a relay for high draw accessories.

I have a 1986 Subaru GL 10 Turbo wagon and it loses power at higher RPM. It acts like it's not getting enough fuel/air. I replaced the fuel filter and still have this problem.

Start simple. Check that all of your spark plug wires are securely attached. Consider testing or replacing the coil pack. It can also be a bad MAP sensor.

Can you drive to a local auto parts store and get a free code reading? That might help give you an idea what is wrong.

I need to replace the starter on my 1988 subaru gl wagon non turbo five speed and I have no idea where its located.

It will be close to the gearbox bell housing, where it connects to the engine. If I remember correctly (it's been a while) it's on the left side of the engine.

'88 Subaru GL AWD Turbo, Shift on the fly wagon, that will sometimes start and sometimes not. There are also power surges. I put a new cap on her and new wires and was excited that she had more...

First try a new fuel filter and check your air filter. Sometimes the ignition relay on those is intermittent too. You may want to check the timing also. It is ok to ****** the timing a couple of degrees and see if it runs better. The turbos on those cars can have issues too. take care and good luck.

1986 subaru gl wagon non turbo stays idiling at 2500

Hate to tell you this but sounds like the problem is a vacuum leak. This will make the engine rev. Check all the vacuum lines before making any adjustment. Have to dig out some of my old books to find factory settings for that carb. Good luck and I will try to find in case you need them to restore carb settings.

Where is the fuel pump located on a 1984 subaru Gl ?

I have a 1984 Gl Wagon 4WD; the fuel pump is located on the passenger side, on the frame rail under the back door, just in front of the rear wheel. It and the fuel filter are accessed by dropping the mounting plate that also serves as a protective plate. Again, this is the 4WD non-turbo EA81 engine GL Wagon; could be different on the 2WD version.

86 subaru gl wagon not firing.

I have the same problem with my 86 GL 4WD. One day it started to turn, and then lost all power. I couldn't even turn on the lights. I have played with the ignition switch wires, and gotten it to fire. I think there may be a short somewhere in the switch or the wires to the harness, but I have not isolated it yet. You might check your ignition switch and wiring...

HELP 86 GL-10 /getting hot

This can be a slipping belt, a worn out water pump, a damage fan or the worst of all a burnt cylinder head gasket. Turbos running at high pressures tend to blow the cylinder head gaskets. Also check the radiator.
