1990 Toyota pickup electrical system goes out after about and hour of driving. The engine continues to run, but if I turn off the engine I most likely need to jump the battery

Same Problem

-   I am dealing with the same thing right now except i have an electric fuel pump so my truck shuts down completly. I just replaced my alternator but it is still doing it so now i am digging into the fuses. If that doesn't do it i don't know where to go next. Let me know if you turn up any tricks. truckee4130@yahoo.com -   truckee4130

Check to make sure that the alternator belt is tight, if it is, you are going to need an alternator. If not, tighten it up and charge the battery and it should recover.
