I am dealing with the same thing right now except i have an electric fuel pump so my truck shuts down completly. I just replaced my alternator but it is still doing it so now i am digging into the fuses. If that doesn't do it i don't know where to go next. Let me know if you turn up any tricks.

Check to make sure that the alternator belt is tight, if it is, you are going to need an alternator. If not, tighten it up and charge the battery and it should recover.

Will a 1990 ford ranger engine fit 1990 Mazda B 2200 truck without any modifications?

No it will not. Only a comparable engine from another mazda b2200 truck and I think the b2000 and possibly Miata, 2.2 engines were about the same from 1986-1993. You can pretty much count out just dropping in a motor from a different manufacturer for any make. Fords don't fit chevys, etc. etc., This would require you modify the entire drive train and quite possibly the electrical system, cooling system, etc. Definitely not worth the hassle involved.

1990 toyota pickup is running hot and when i shut

Try with the small stuff first. Replace the thermostat. Before you do that, you should flush and refill your system with just water after the flush process. The bottle of solution that you put into your radiator to flush it and clean it has instructions, follow those. Then let the car cool down and drain the system and refill it with fresh water only. Run this water for a bit and then do it once more. Once cooled back down , replace thermostat and replace the 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water.
Check engine oil level as well, low oil will overheat engines quickly.

My check engine comes on when in driving if i take my foot off the gas pedial and that apply acceleration again the light gose off. when the light goes on i lose power

I also have experienced this problem with my Isuzu D-Max pickup. Did the problem occur when you were having a long drive? Coz it happened to me when i was already driving for 1 hour at a regular fast speed. After that, the problem stilled continued, especially when i reach 100km per hour.

What I did to fix the problem was i had the pickup's alarms calibrated by an Isuzu authentic service center. Coz only Isuzu service centers can calibrate the alarms and i think they're the only ones who can diagnose the car's problem if the check engine alarm turns on.

After that, we found out that there was no problem with the engine. Just the "check engine" alarm's calibration.

My 1990 toyota 2.8 pickup ( african import) got low on oil without indication and i thought had seized. got it back to the garage and sorted out pipe ,oil indicator and refilled with oil. It started up and...

Damage has been done to the engine, the noise you hear are the piston rod bearing ( knocking lower part of engine ) you can try putting in a crank kit and have the piston rods mechin but will not last very long, will start to knock again, best bet to replace engine, good luck.

My check engine came on, on my 1990 toyota pickup. The code is 71, which has to do with the exhaust system. How do I fix that?

Its either running too lean or too rich.

Did it backfire or run out of petrol??.......causes for lamp to come on.

If any of the above will extinguish if driven a short distance. If non of the above it will need to go to the garage to be "scanned"
