Question about 1995 Jeep Wrangler
My jeep does not start , the engine start to run but just a seconds later shut down and if you pump the gas is the same how can i fix this ?
Is the engine carburated or is it fuel injected? If carburated, remove the air cleaner and start the vehicle, when it stalls get out and with a flashlight look down the carb. while you manually open and close the throttle several times. You should see gas squirt down the carburator, if not the fuel pump, gas filter or carb. float assembly has gone bad. Start with the cheepest first and go from there. Some fuel filters are built into the carburator. You can take the fuel line free from the carburator and place a rubber vose and pressure guage on it to see if it is running correctly when cranking. Disable the ignition coil system before doing any of the testing to remove risk of fire. If it is fuel injection then you need a computer to determine what the problem is. If you spill any fuel during the work process, walk away from the vehicle for an hour or two to allow the fuel to evaporate completely to remove risk of fire. Good Luck, RAC
