Hello;
You may have a broken engine mount. As the engine revs and torques it can pull the throttle cable in such a way as to continue reving. Check for smooth operation of the throttle and cable with the engine off. I f you have smooth operation, check your motor mounts.
Thanks;

Hi, This morning I was driving my 2000 Chrysler Town and Country van, and I was at a stop and I put my foot on the gas, and it revved really high, but wouldn't go anywhere. I turned it off, and...

Check your transmission fluid level as noted on the trans. dipstick. If low add to proper fill level but Do Not overfill ! If it is low this may solve your problem if not it mat require shop service. Possibly a new transmission filter or maybe worse a trans overhaul.

When i start the engine the gas dont work, the light still .....

Two types of throttles on these cars. If you have an electric throttle, then it could be the silonoid that needs replacement. If you are working off the standard style with a throttle cable...then open the hhod, and watch as someone gives it gas. You will find a cable pulling a lever somewhere near the front of the intake manifold...probablt behind a spinning pulley for the drive belt. A good dose of an electrical cleaner and lubricant may fix your woes.

I have a pontica sunfire and when I turned it on today the car just revved really loudly and I could't get it to stop except to turn the engine off

A guess would be a broken throttle return spring near the throttle body. (follow the hose from the air cleaner back toward the engine--where it ends is the throttle body). Look for a small twisted wire cable that operates when the throttle is stepped on and a spring is supposed to pull the cable back after you take your foot off of the gas..

Car ideling roughly ...not stalling

sounds like you may have a problem with your Idle air control valve, located on the throttle body. this is what controls the idle when coming to a stop or stopped and turning corners or basically when your foot is not on the gas pedal
