take a test light and check the wires in the trunk that go to the brake light bulbs and make sure when you hit the brakes those wires get power to the bulb those are duel filament bulbs

Brake lights dont work on my 2001 volvo s80. All fuses and relays are good. The bulbs are good too. The third brake light and parking lights work too. Turn dignals are fine too. Whats my problem?

Sounds like the brake switch on floor under brake pedal, needs adjusting or its bad. When you put on the brakes, it sends power to rear stop lights. The pedal hits this switch. Good-Day! ( if all else is good )

09 aveo- no brake lites

Check your fuse and bulbs first. If they dont help, it is probably the brake switch. It is above your brake pedal. When you hit the brake, the switch is activated, therfore, turning on your lights.

Replaced tail light bulbs checked fuse and my brake lights still dont work what di i do

It is probably your brake switch. It is located right above your brake pedal. The brake pedal leg actually hits the brake switch, therfore, turning on your lights. It is probably broke. It looks like a round chrome cylinder usually. It is right above that pedal.

Possible brake ligh switch. Should hear "click" noise under dash area when brake is applied with key on if switch is working properly.

My brake lights dont light up when i hit the brake petal n the turn signals wont work

Does the high mounted brake light work? If so, the brake switch is good. The next suspect if the fuses all ck out good and if the 4 way flashers work is the turn signal switch.

THIS PROBLEM MAY BE A DEFECTIVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH OR A DEFECTIVE BRAKE LIGHT GROUND, THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE GROUNDED NEAR THE SOCKETS, YOU WILL NEED TO PULL THE TAIL LIGHT ASSMEBLIES OUT TO CHECK THESE GROUNDS TO THE SHEET METAL.

Brake lights dont work, Turn Signals all goofy

First thing i would do is chg. the break light switch, and make sure to chk. all grounds around tailights, sometimes if there is a ground problem it will travel back thru the hot wire to get a ground, witch in turn makes everything go wackey.
