Sounds like you need a fuel pump.

Ok... since i haven't yet put the muffler on, i'm still running a open exhaust

not too sure how old the fuel pump is, but it's getting lots of gas as i watch it pump into the throttle body

I'm not too sure yet, i was told by another mech. too check my EGR valve, he said it may be plugged and not letting it run good under a load. Thanks too all, for your help as I keep plugging away at it, i'll keep you informed what I find :)

just draining the trans it will hold about 5 quarts. put in 4 then run car at idle put gear shift in all gear positions then back in park. ensure its up to operating temp then check trans oil level and go from there.

does the car die instantly when you shift selector? If so then a possible bad torque converter.

My 88 blazer won't shift out of first gear until its up to 35 to 40 mpg, its a 700 auto. Any suggestions

Check all your vacume lines for leeks. If there are no leeks then may have a bad modulater. There will be one vacume line that goes down your fire wall to your trans.Where the vacume line plugs in,this is your modulater and controls your shifting. The part runs anywhere from $10-15 for a new one and most just screw into the trans or have a fork retainer with a single bolt. This only applies on gas motors.Well good luck and hope this helps.,

Engine speed hunts on idle. Auto trans slow shift.

The fast idle valve is inside the throttle body. Sometimes it backs out and needs turned back in (it's threaded). This will cause the loping idle.

Get transmission filter changed with new fluid. Honda does not recommend transmission flushing.

You've got to do the obvious things, look at your spark plug wires, if you see what looks like chalky residue they are arcing replace them and your plugs. Check all vacume lines for leaks, and make sure your air filter is clean

2000 dodge neon idles fine but when in gear it chokes. Changed plugs and air filter.

Start the car in park when it is running go to reverse back up 10-15 ft then go to drive if it goes forward but won't shift out of 1st gear then it is a trans mision problem not a fuel delivery problem.

If you have an auto trans, and it is stuck in 1st or 2nd gear here is a link that might help there are 13 parts to the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46VeVdRdkpc&playnext=1&playnext_from=QL

88 ram 4x4 auto put trans in and it wont shift

Sounds like you got a bad trans. Was it used? Does it have a warranty? Can you shift it with the linkage off? Is everything adjusted correctly?
