Question about 2001 Honda Odyssey

1 Answer

The radio and accessory socket in my 2001 Honda Odyssey are not working. The problem started after attempting to plug in a laptop through an adapter that has been previously used in the vehicle. Any suggestions?

On your owners manual for fuses/relays. look for the location of the fuse box, look for the specific fuse for radio/stereo and/or cigarette lighter. When you find the burnt fuse, if you go to buy a replacement you might wan't to consider a new style. they sell fuses that light up when the fuse burns out. It is about .10cents more and makes finding the fuse easier if it happens again.

2001 honda odyssey radio won't play, wants a code

The code number is different for all Hondas. There should be a credit card sized piece of plastic with the owner's manual with the number on it. If not, have your Honda dealer contact HONDA with the vehicle identification number (vin) to get the code. Write it down and keep it safe. You'll need it each time the battery is disconnected or you lose power for some reason. It's the anti-theft component of the sound system. Some dealers record the number where you can find it, such as inside the glove box, or inside the trunk overhead. It's a 5 digit number. Good luck!

2003 honda odyssey

I assume you mean the front or rear power accessory sockets. You will need to check two fuses. 1) Fuse no. 8 (7.5A) in the drivers under dash fuse/relay box. 2) Fuse no. 9 (15A) in the passenger's kick panel fuse/relay box. Both these fuses must be good for the accessory sockets to have power.

2001 Honda Odyssey Transmission Problem

The Odyssey has notorious bad transmissions from 2000-2003. You will not get anything on a trade, the trans can be fixed for about $2k. If everything else on the van still works and you like it, figure you bought it again for $2k. I changen my wife's Odyssey trans at 175K miles for $2k and she is happy so therefore I am happy too :-)
