Engine splutters and dies when i try to turn it on

I just bought a 2000 Volvo S40 and took it to get an oil change. It was fine all day, but then the next day, I put coolant in, and immediately after, it started acting up. The engine will turn over, but it splutters and dies before it starts. If I keep turning the key over and over, after like the 5th time it will start and keep running fine. Then if it's off over a couple of hours, I have the same problem. It has recently had the turbo and coil pack replaced, if that has anything to do with it...

Engine check, code P0117, changed ECT SENSOR AND THERMOSTAT. It's coming back for the first 15 min of driving and stabilizes.

I would change the thermostat with the OEM adn it should be fine, the ECM needs to see a certain engine tempreature to control fuel ratio.

I have volvo s40 2004 The engine light comes

Sounds like your dealer is feeling its way. which sensor did they say they changed and why. Do not pay for this ****, you took it to the dealer with a warning light and they say they changed something in order to attempt to cure the warning but they failed. About as much use as changing the seat covers and emptying the ash trays! When you say noise, is this a squeal, a crunch, is it continuous or is it during change gear. Does the car slip when in gear, is there vibration. Check your engine oil and transmission oil levels

I have ust serviced my 2001 volvo s40 and now the

did the sevice light come on before you serviced it? when you "serviced" it I assume you changed the oil and now need the service light reset.
I bought the 1998 S70. it got time to change the oil. Being how I am I changed the oil myself. I had to call dealership about resetting the service light.
they said $29.96.
I said 29.95?!!! how much if YOU would have changed my oil and reset the light?
they said $29.95.
so I learned you need to access the OBDII to reset the light.after service. hope this helps.

Flashing upside down arrow/ slow acceleration

This is a common problem of Volvo S40. You can try this trick to turn off the flashing arrow light.

1) Turn off Engine
2) Turn key to "On" position (Not start the engine), you will see the panel light will on
3) Step on the break paddle
4) Shift the gear from "P" to "L" 10 times
5) Turn key to " Off" position
6) Now you can start the engine.
7) If doesn't work, you can repeat the procedure.

Hope this tick help
Good luck
