My 2000 monte carlo raditor froze due to the cold

Hello and Welcome to FixYa.com

ok you will need to thaw the radiator. either remove it or find a garage to put it in with heat. then flush and add the 50/50 mix of anti freeze and water.

If I'm not doing a full flush(just adding more because it's low) what kind of antifreeze/coolant do I use in a 02 Monte Carlo SS? And what cooler should it be?

because of the cars age we would need to know what is already in the system(ethylene or non ethylene)and the colour of the fluid now...if its a rusty colour that would be no help...sorry.

2001 montie carlo fans wont cool off engine

if it is overheating try replacing the thermostat first. If it is stuck closed the coolant cant cycle through the engine properly. Also, try a flush and fill.

Auto heater won't heat

Is it very cold in your location? If your thermostat is stuck in the open position the car will never get to temeture, is the car showing normal coolant tempeture? It could be as simple as low coolant, check to make sure your coolant is topped off and the car is coming up to a normal temp level! Try the cheap easy stuff first!!

2000 Monte Carlo SS (89,000 mi)

That slushy brown stuff is signs of a blown head gasket. Have a code scanner hooked up to find out why the light is on, it will probably show coolant temperature sensor. Just out of curiosity, check the pvc valve (if your car has one), and see if it's clogged. If it is replace it, the crank case is not getting ventilated.

Not hot air from heater

it could be a low coolant level or stuck thermostat or maybe even a clogged line you can try changing the thermostat or getting your radiator flushed out at like jiffylube or a place like that

Coolant/radiator flush

No, its not hard to do but keep in mind if youre just going to drain the rad and refill it there is still a lot of coolant in the engine that wont be replaced........the drain plug will be somewhere near the bottom of the radiator, most will be a flat tab that you should be able to turn without any tools....remember lefty loosey righty tighty
