Question about 2001 Chevrolet Malibu
Over the past 3 months i have been having problems with my car randomly not starting it will run fine but then all of a sudden it wont start i turn the key n it sounds like it wants to turn over but it wont... the lights n everything work fine so its not the battery and so far we checked the starter its fine, the coils there fine, it has a brand new fuel pump, spark plugs are fine, ignition module is fine.. we also ran a diagnostics check and nothing came back... then out of the blue the car always starts again... but it has already done this 4 times n we are all stumped so plz help us figure out wat we r missing or over looking here... thank u
Is your theft light flashing. If it is try this. I learned this from emission wiz Put your key in turn it on dont start wait 10 mins remove key wait 10 seconds repeat this a total of 3 times. If that dont work try a different key do the same thing. This relearns your key to the ignition it started with Gm cars and trucks from 1999 to to 2006. It is a big problem but there is no recall that I know of. If that dont work a dealer needs to probably replace and reprogram your ignition switch and keys
