2005 dodge diesel codes!

Engine light is on, the truck keeps downshifting! 2 codes come up (P0340 And P0341)... PLEAS HELP! My Dodge Diesel ran fine, but was showing a check engine light. At about 60 it was like someone shut the key off. I pulled over and after a couple minutes it restarted and idled ok but would only run about 20mph. Any one know what's up? By the way it is a 2001 w/ 155k miles

The p0251 is injection pump mechanical failure fuel valve feedback circuit.
The p0252 is fuel valve signal missing.
The p0253 is injection pump fuel valve circuit open
The p0340 and the p0341 is for the cam position sensor.
The p1688 is internal injection pump failure
You are going to have to replace the injection pump. The electronic module on it has failed.

P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 or Single Sensor)
P0341 Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance (Bank 1 or Single Sensor)
These codes as you can see are related, you either have a shorted crankshaft position sensor or the wiring to it is shorted or damaged. I would replace the crankshaft sensor 1st and check the wiring to it as well as the connector for damage.

The crank sensor on your truck goes into the block behind the starter. You have to remove the starter, and then you can remove the sensor. I would recommend removing the starter and spraying the sensor down with a ton of penetrating oil. They corrode into the block very bad, and are known to break off in the block when you try to take them out.

I have 2 engine codes on my 2005 dodge neon. they are p0325 and p0340. the car has problem starting and misses badly for a while. What is the problem and how do i fix it? thanx for the help!

the p0325 code pertains to a knock censor. the p0340 is for your cam shaft sensor. i've had this problem before. try replacing the cam shaft censor first and run the codes again to see if the other still comes up. it should fix the problem. hope this helps
