How to adjust parking brake on 1993 chevy lumina ?

  • Adjustments

  1. Apply service brake pedal three times with a force of approximately 175 lbs.

  2. Fully apply and release parking brake three times. Full application may require two pedal strokes.

  3. Raise and support vehicle, then mark relationship between wheel and axle flange.

  4. Check parking brake pedal assembly for full release as follows:

    1. Turn ignition switch to On position.

    2. If ``Brake\'\' lamp is illuminated, operate manual brake release and pull downward on front parking brake cable to remove slack from pedal assembly.

  1. Remove rear wheel and tire assemblies, then install two lug nuts to retain each rotor assembly.

  2. If two parking brake levers on both calipers are not against lever stops on caliper housings, check for binding in rear cables and/or loosen cables at adjuster until both left and right levers are against their stops.

  3. Tighten parking brake cable at adjuster until either the left or right lever begins to move off the stop, then loosen adjustment until lever moves back barely touching stop.

  4. Operate parking brake several times to check adjustments. A firm pedal feel should be obtained by pumping pedal two full strokes and rear wheels should not rotate forward when parking brake is fully applied.

  5. Install wheel and tire assemblies, aligning marks made in step 3.

Parking Brake Light won't turn off, Cruise Control won't engage

Get down and look at parking brake assembly, If you see an electrical connector, unplug it, see if that helps? If it doesn't help or causes other issues just plug it back in.
Of course that isn't the proper fix. If something wrong with parking brake assembly, get it checked out.

I have a 94 Mitsubishi Diamante ES. A month ago I noticed that transmission was getting stemming hot after driving on a high way. I let the car cool down and then nothing happened for about two weeks....

theres a good chance you need a replacemnt transmission. Since this problem is real your only option to get it professionaly inspected . We can guess, but a guess isn't going to fix it.

Cannot find the parking brake adjuster to remove rotor on a 2008 hydai unsonata

The parking brake adjuster is located at the base of the parking brake lever. It reqires a deep 12mm or 13mm socket to acsess the nut. Pull the brake lever up enough until you see the bolt and nut. Then back it off counter clockwise until it's almost at the end. When you are ready to retighten the emerg. brake, pull the lever about two inches up and tighten the nut back down again. To test the adjustment. release the lever and make sure you can turn the wheel easily. The park lever should only come up about 3-4 inches to full stop.

    Parking break doesn't release

it's a cable that leads to the back brakes... directly under where the leaver is ... is where you will find the cable. keep in mind that brake is often referred to as a parking brake... but the proper name is emergency brake... in other words if your brakes fail... that's your last resort to stop your vehicle... other then hitting something... might want to get it fixed
