Hit the starter with a hammer and see if the teeth are stuck if it works you should be able to drive for about a month or two but you will have to replace the starter eventually. Or carry a hammer with you at all times; and that will even quit working at some point and time.

I have 1992 isuzu pup truck.sometimes i turn the key to crank it and there is nothing noise wize,no clicking nothing.the dash lights come on,battery is good.i turn the key another time and it cranks r

you need an ignition switch. One way to figure it out is to turn the key to engage the starter, quickly........over and over, the "catch and start" will happen with no change and suddenly, its engaged. Or, keep the key in the START position, don't let up on it and hit the steering column with your fist, or the steering wheel. It may just be shorting out.

Good battery, key will not engage starter, jumping starter will not engage drive

jumping across the solenoid will spin the starter but will not engage the pinion in the ring gear. Have a load test done on the battery as I suspect that there is a bad cell and you are not getting a full charge. If the battery is faulty then there is always enough power to turn on dash lights but nothing left to run the high current solenoid and starter.

My 1992 geo tracker will not cranck new battery new ingnition switch

First check if the switch has power to it: turn key to on, do the warning lights and gauges turn on, and all accessories work?
If so, next check would be the start circuit. If you have a voltmeter or test light, check if the starter solenoid wire has power when key is held in crank. Power there and the starter or solenoid needs testing- it is probably bad. If no testing equipment, take the starter off and have it tested.

Car wont turn over and start, but lights and everything else works It will not do anything when you turn over the key.

The key switch connects to the ingnition switch which electrically actuates the circuitry to engage the starter motor, the link or this switch could be the fault if all cables/wiring and relays/fuses are good.

1992 jeep yj will not turn over

Try jumping the solenoid, pull the actuator wire off the solenoid(the small one)This will engage the starter so make sure your in nuetral or park, run a wire from the solenoid actuator to the positive battery post,if the starter engages your ignition switch or starter relay have become faulty,if the starter does'nt engage the solenoid has gone bad.Post back if you need more help.

1992 honda accord wagon lx 4cyl. battery good all lights, radio work when i turn the key on but when i try to start nothing, no noise nothing, can u help?

It's probably the starter or cable to the starter. If you can get to it check it with a voltmeter while someone turns the key to engage the starter motor. If you have 12volts DC and it doesn't turn it is the starter.Good luck...
