Water reserve bottle is emptying and engine is getting how

flushing a radiator is a waste of time and money as blocked cores do not flush. Have a pressure test done on the coolant system and check for external leaks. have a compression test done to check for head gasket and cracked head. Have a flow test done on the radiator and if shows signs of blockage replace the radiator .. Always fill the radiator at the radiator cap and not the reserve bottle. The reserve bottle water will not go down until the engine coolant starts to cool so if it is going down when the engine is hot then you have a bad leak in the reservoir bottle.

Car blows out cold air but steam out the bottle

I would install a new thermostat. The only way to check a thermostat is to heat it up in a pot of water on the stove and make sure it opens and closes. Make sure it's in the right way, and make sure the radiator is full. You may have to loosen a heater hose to get the air out of the system. I usually let them warm up with the cap off to make sure it's all "burped" out. Once you have everything full if it still overheats, you may have a water pump problem. Squeeze your rad hose right shut if you can. When you release it, you should feel a gush of coolant go through it. If you don't, your water pump may be no good, and will have to be replaced.

3 months ago i changed to a new radiator after going trough water bottle after water bottle.Things were fine. Now im over heating again with the problem being the pressure cap of the water bottle apparently...

There is no water bottle

All vehicles have a coolant recovery container

When the vehicle warms up ,some coolant goes
past the radiator cap into it

At night when cool, the radiator draws back what
it needs

Been that way for 50 years

That container isn't under pressure as you can see

You have to diagnose the engine overheating issue

You have a new radiator,I would assume new thermostat
& rad cap,so continue on

It is very old, so a head gasket wouldn't be a supprise

Water comes out of the over flow bottle(i checked the cap)

make sure you dont over fill the radiator bottle past max, something else to try is run the system with out the cap on for a few minutes at idle to expel any air pockets in your cooling system.

Water boiling out the bottle as the car overheat's

it is without doubt blown head gaskit,or cracked block---a quicktest at radiator centre will confirm this only takes a couple of minutes

Monte carlo 01 runs hot, says low coolant but its full

Thermostat is probably stuck closed... Run the car with the cap of the bottle or radiator and see if it starts to circulate when it gets hot... Be careful though because it can over heat and have no coolant flowing.. And also watch for spewing fluid if it get hot at the place you took the cap off.... The low coolant could also mean the radiator is not full but the bottle is... Check for a restriction from the bottle to the radiator.. If you see a sensor on the bottle it could be bad... But That won't cause it to over heat. It'll just say low coolant because the switch is stuck.
Also does the fan come on while it's getting hot?
If not that could be the reason for the overheating.. And the coolant level sensor could be bad telling you it's low
Cap off look for circulation of antifreeze.
At the same time before it over heats make sure fan is coming on. No fan on? Fan fuse or relay could be bad... Also maybe a wire.
No circulation? Thermostate stuck or restriction in coolant hose...Line... Radiator..... And worse case scenario the water pump might be bad.
The low level I wouldn't worry about. Find out why it's over heating first.

1999 astrovan heat system

check your engine coolant, sounds like it is low.

With the vehicle off and engine cold, take the radiator cap off. If the water level isnt at the top of the radiator neck and/or the adjacent plastic bottle doesn't have any coolant in it...

With the radiator cap off, start the engine and let it warm up. Completely fill the radiator to the top of the radiator neck and fill the plastic bottle to the "fill line" inscribed on the bottle...both with a 50% water, 50% coolant solution.

install the radiator cap and after a minute or so check your heat in the passenger cabin...hope it works well now.
