Need torque for head bolts for 2002 toyota tacoma pre runner 2.7

    You need it to be set at 33 ft/lbs - dont over tighten or you'll crack the gasket you need a 30mm socket too!

    best is to tughten to 25 ft/pls, and drive it a day, then after it is warm tight too 33 ft/lbs again dont over tighten

YOU CAN GET THEM AT ANY TOOL SHOP. PEPBOYA/CANADAIN TIRE.. GO TO THE PART DESK AND ASK THEM THE SIZE OF THE NUT AND BUY THAT SIZE OF TORQUE HEAD. THERE PC PROGRAM WILL TELL THE TEH SIZE OF BOLT IT IS - IT WILL BE METRIC 9MM.. 11MM PROB. OR BUY A WHOLE SET. OR GET A BIT OF PLAYDOUGH AND MAKE AN IMPRESSION AND GO TO THE TOOL SHOP AND MATCH IT TO THE MOULD YOU HAVE/.. BINGO

    Need to torque the head,,,put a new head gasket but nobody has the torque to torque the head bolts

SOURCE: whats the valve clearance for toyota 4k engines

valve clearance is .20mm for the intake and .30mm for the exhaust. Will try to find cylinder head torque for you.

I need too know the torque specs on head bolts and crankcam 2.4 engine
on a 2002 2.4 engine head bolts are 'torqued to distance'.

First, install all the bolts, and, in a sequential fashion, starting at the innermost, working outward, torque all bolts to 70 N-m/806 kgf-cm/58 foot lbs.

Next, mark the front side of each head bolt with a dot of paint. Retighten the cylinder head bolts 90 degrees, starting at the inner 2, and working outward.I dont thin anything has changed on this engine since then.

Leaking coolent from bolt going into head behind thermostat housing
try taking the bolt out,
cleaning it
coating the threads with RTV sealant (available at car parts store, walmart)
put bolt back in
torque
let the sealant cure (see instrutions on tube of rtv)
see if that helps

  1. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.1 (4WD AND PRE RUNNER DRIVE TYPE)
    1. Remove the 4 bolts, then remove the under cover No.1.

  • REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT
    1. While releasing the belt tension by turning the belt tensioner counterclockwise, remove the V-ribbed belt from the belt tensioner.
  1. INSPECT V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY
    1. Check that nothing gets caught in the tensioner by turning it clockwise and counterclockwise. If a malfunction exists, replace the tensioner.

    3. INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT
    1. While turning the belt tensioner counterclockwise, align with its holes, and then insert a bar of 6 mm (0.24 inch) into the holes to fix the belt tensioner.
    2. Install the V-ribbed belt.
    3. While turning the belt tensioner counterclockwise, remove the bar.

    1. If it is hard to install the V-ribbed belt, perform the following procedure.
(1) Put the V-ribbed belt on all parts except the P/S pump, as shown in the illustration. (2) While releasing the belt tension by turning the belt tensioner counterclockwise, put the V-ribbed belt on the P/S pump.
  1. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO.1 (4WD AND PRE RUNNER DRIVE TYPE)
    1. Install the engine under cover with the 4 bolts. Torque: 29 Nm (296 kgf-cm, 21 ft. lbs.)
