Look on the clutch pedal, up on the rod piece, there is a switch there that looks like a brake light switch. Pull it forward so that it hits the rod on the brake pedal, it is probably out of adjustment. Try that, if it starts, there is your problem. You can either then buy a new switch or just zip tie the old one in place.

2002 explorer, will not start, turn key just clicks, have new batt and stater but still clicks when key is turned. what could be the problem

There is a starter solenoid on the passenger side fender well. It has 2 big threaded post and 1 or 2 small ones. Have someone turn the key and see if that is what's clicking. If it is take a big screwdriver and jump across the 2 big post and it should start right up

Wont start turn over with key but can jump accross starter

solinoid for starter is bad. on a lot of fords the solinoid is mounted on fender, under hood. if you jump from one side to other on solinoid, and it tries to start then solinoid is toast. just follow the positive cable from battery. and you will find it.

Sounds like there's a grounded wire somewhere between the ignition switch and the solenoid. When you bypass the switch with the screwdriver you don't ground out the line, but with the switch the ground shorts the circuit, blows the fuse, and then won't start the engine.

Seems to Be A Starter Solinoid Problem

Starter wont engage

The problem is either the starter solinoid (located on fender near battery) or you are not getting power to the "s" terminal on the starter solinoid from the ignition switch. If you follow the positive battery cable from the battery you'll follow it to the solinoid. Remove the small wire from the terminal marked "s" on the solinoid and using a screwdriver jump from "s" terminal (not the wire) to where positive battery cable connects to solinoid. (with battery connected). If starter doesn't do anything the solinoid is bad. If starter cranks then you are not getting voltage from ignition switch through "s" terminal wire.
