Question about 1996 Chevrolet K1500

1 Answer

1998 chevrolet silverado 1500 hesitates or chokes when accelerating. When the engine warms up the problen seems to be a little better but not totally gone altogether. I put 1 can of berriman's fuel and carb cleaner with a full tank of gas and that temporilary seemed to fix the problem until I filled up with a new tank of gas. Thanks

Where is the throttle pedal sensor located on a 2002 cheverolet silverado

There is a throttle valve positioner sensor located at the end of the throttle valve shaft on the right hand end of the shaft, the sensor then bolts to the throttle body as you face the engine from the front. A defective sensor will set the check engine light and give hesitation during acceleration.

I have a 1996 silverado in the winter it idle's alot higher than in warm weather no matter how long you run the engine

u need a choke adjustment - it is simple and not very expensive - look under the hood - take the air cleaner off - if this is an all electronic engine it can be tricky to spot but there is a choke adjustment --
best for a shop - not over expensive - also
while doing this - take down the vin number and call the local dealer and ask about recalls

Once truck is started if i drive it has a lag

I would have the computer scanned ( no SERVICE LIGHTS right ? ) looking for an errant coolant sensor not telling the computer to give your vehicle a bit RICHER ( a little bit more fuel ), since it does start. Just has POOR cold drive away. Hope this helps

Hesitation , skipping, engine cuts out when accelerating

Im having the same issue I believe. I have a 94\' Chevy 1500 and when i accelerate it will jerk like the gas has cut out but it wont stall. It just jerks and slows me down. It only seems to do it when going up a hill. I feel like it could be the fuel pump or possibly some intake gaskets?
