The sunroof in my 1999 Toyota Solara was recently smashed and I got a replacement car. Now I need to take the sunroof out of the parts car and put it in my new car. I was just looking for some tips on removing the headliner and switching the sunroofs

SOURCE: TOYOTA LUCIDA ESTIMA, INSTALL SUNROOF

I have two things to tell you. Most all sunroofs I have removed, you have to remove inside trim arpound the glass and generally have two bolts on each side that hold it in. Be sure and get any glas in tracks out also with a vacuum first then compressed air, you and probably find a cheap replacement for the glass at www.car-parts.com If you need step by step instructions go here, best site to get them, cost twenty bucks though, BUT if you NEED it, it is well worth it. I have nothing to gain for trying to help you. If this doesn't help you as a fixya vote, plaes do not vote on me at all, thans, I just do this for the rating. God Bless and Merry Christmas

SOURCE: replace sunroof glass instructions for 1994 Acura Integra

no you should not have to take the head liner out.. when the sunroof is open you should see 3 or 4 screws one both sides.. all you have to do is remove the screws but its better to have a second person so they can hold the glass while your removing the screws so you don't drop the glass..then just put on some cloth gloves(prefered) to hold up and install the new glass. do removal in reverse to install.

SOURCE: headliner on sunroof cover needs repair

No you do not have to drop the headliner!! Remove the glass and it comes out through the opening. Before you recover the sunshade you must sand the rubbery messy layer that the germans coat the piece with or you will never get the glue to hold for very long.

How do I remove the front headlight bulb in my 1999 Toyota Solara?

I am no expert, that being said, I went to the auto part store with my manual and got the bulb needed for low beam lighting. Seeing what it looked like helped greatly. HOWEVER, when I went to replace it, it didn't require a new bulb, it just came loose and needed jiggling. My 2003 Solara, the holder/bracket piece that holds the bulb is red, the light pops in that socket. I would have never known this if not for the auto part guy showing me under the hood. Good luck.
