Trying to remove and replace rear brake rotors

I have a 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser and I am having trouble removing the rear break rotor.

First, make sure your parking brake is off.
Remove the rear caliper and then the brake pad housing. In the center hub of the rotor the parking brake shoes are located. The may need to be loosen first. There is a hole between 2 of the studs you need to align at the bottom. Look in the hole with a flashlight and find the star wheel. Use a screw driver to turn the wheel up a few turns to loosen the parking brake shoes from the rotor hub.
After that there are 2 threaded holes in the rotor near the studs you put two 8mm bolts in and slowly tighten each and it will pull the rotor off the hub. They rust up pretty bad so use penetrating oil on them.

Probably there is a leak in the hydraulic brake line hoses connecting the master and the wheel cylinder hose. Also get the brakes bleeded to remove any air the system. also get the check valve of the brake booster checked and the vacuum hose.

Having trouble removing rear disc brake rotor fron
This vehical has drum styal park brake shoes on the inside of the brake rotor so make sure the park brake isn't set and you can turn the rotor. If you can't turn the rotor you will have to look into this first if the park brake is set or sticking you won't get the rotor off if thats ok try spray with penting oil helps a little. I use a 4 or 5 lb sluge hammer and hit the rotor kinds close to the wheel studs about 5 times then hit the outer edge from the back side also works on the outerside. Don't be afread to hit hard I never broke one.

Do you have rust on the hub where the rotor mounts? My guess is yes. Another probable cause is the small retainers that hold the rotors on when the wheels are off. If they are still there, remove them. We see this problem all the time here at the shop. Hope this helps.

2004 Toyota Camry Brakes
Raise the vehicle up and remove the rims & tires

Remove the brake pads, and then remove the calipers from the caliper retention brackets, do NOT remove the brake hoses from the calipers.

Remove the caliper retaining brackets from the hub assemblies (2 large bolts on backside of the bracket)

Tap the brake rotors off of the hubs, hit them from the back side of the rotor.

No big mysteries here, this is a very easy job.
