Vehicle Speed Signal
The vehicle speed signal is generated by the rear anti-lock brake sensor and sent to the 4-wheel anti-lock brake system (4WABS) module. The 4WABS module sends the vehicle speed signal via circuit 679 (GY/BK) to all systems which require a vehicle speed signal input.
Speedometer
The electronic speedometer receives a speed signal from the 4WABS module.

Take it to a qualified repair shop .

2005 buick rainier abs light stays on. Just put new brakes and rotors. How do i het this off.

If the ABS light is on it means the ABS system has detected a fault.
If the light comes on when you start the car and stays on than it has detected a problem during its self check. This is typically a wiring or connector issue.

If the light come on when you start the vehicle and then goes out but comes back on when you start moving than there is likely a problem with a speed sensor.

The best route is to start with a scan tool to see what codes are present and/or to see what wheel speed sensor is not working.

It also wont hurt to check you r work to see if you disconnected a speed sensor or broke a wire while servicing the brakes.

My problem is when I stopped the car and AVEO 1.4 engine is still on the sign and then the ABS light goes off when the engine and restart the ABS signs missing

When you cycle the ignition the abs system starts over again. If it sees no problem the light will not come on. When it sees a problem it turns on the light. You might have a bad wheel speed sensor and the computer cant tell till one wheel stays at 0 mph. The code will stay in the computer so a scan will tell you why.

My abs light came on this morning on my way to work...there was snow on the road but the light came on and stayed on for miles until i reached work. Then when I left to go home from work and started my...

OK, if the ABS light goes on, many times it is due to a dirty or bad wheel speed sensor. Don't worry too much, because if the ABS light is on, standard braking will work. If you don't notice any pulling to one side or the other, and you can come to a full and complete stop without skidding, it's probably ok, until you can have the ABS system repaired at your convenience.

Turning the car off will reset the ABS system on Chevrolet Cars and Light trucks. But, if the ABS light comes back on, it probably means it has lost a signal from one or more of the wheel speed sensors.

Sometimes a wheel hub assembly with an ABS sensor on it will be necessary to repair the problem on many late model vehicles.

Good luck on this repair.

Sounds like the speed sensor in the transmission is faulty. Does the engine light come on? If it is , it would indicate the speed sensor code. Check the connection for looseness. Good Luck.

  1. Connect diagnostic read-out tool to SMEC connector, then disconnect the speed sensor connector and ensure there are no pushed out or damaged terminals. Repair damaged terminals, then proceed to Test 38.
  2. If there are no damaged terminals, set diagnostic read-out tool to ``Read Sensor Values,'' and select ``Vehicle Speed.'' Connect a jumper wire at between black/light blue and white/orange wires of speed sensor connector. While reading diagnostic read-out tool, make and break jumper wire. If display reads any speed above 0 mph, replace speed sensor, then proceed to Test 38.
  3. If display reads 0 mph, turn ignition switch Off and disconnect 60-way connector from SMEC. Ensure there are no pushed out or damaged terminals. Repair damaged terminals, then proceed to Test 38. If there are no damaged terminals, proceed to step 4.
  4. With sensor disconnected, connect ohmmeter between 60-way connector terminal No. 67 and ground. If ohmmeter shows continuity, proceed to step 6. If ohmmeter does not show continuity, move meter lead from ground to white/orange wire of speed sensor connector.
  5. If ohmmeter indicates continuity, proceed to step 7. If ohmmeter does not indicate continuity, repair white/orange wire of 60-way connector for open circuit, then proceed to Test 38.
  6. Disconnect bulk head connector to instrument panel. If ohmmeter still indicates continuity, repair white/orange wire for a short to ground in harness, then proceed to Test 38. If ohmmeter does not indicate continuity, repair white/orange wire for a short to ground in instrument cluster area.
  7. Disconnect ohmmeter leads and connect ohmmeter between 60-way connector terminal No. 4 and sensor connector black/light blue wire. If ohmmeter does not indicate continuity, proceed to step 8. If ohmmeter indicates continuity, replace SMEC, then proceed to Test 38.
  8. If ohmmeter did not indicate continuity, repair black/light blue wire of speed sensor harness for an open circuit, then proceed to Test 38.

Abs light on

I'm a Ford service adviser. There are many reasons for the
abs warning indicator to come on. The usual cause is from a
faulty speed sensor. Either a wheel speed sensor or the
differential speed sensor. I don't think the light is related to your vandalism. You might want to take the truck to an auto parts store and have them read the codes for you. Most auto parts stores will do this for free.
Good Luck
