What was the reason for replacing the pump ? Did you check fuel pressure before and after the job ?
Is the check engine light on ?

The upper intake gaskets may be leaking. They are made of plastic and metal and will leak air. Do not remove the cover on very top of manifold when changing.

SOURCE: I need to replace the water pump on my 2004 isuzu

Hi,
Tipping my hat to you... I would recommend going to an auto parts store like Autozone or O'Reilly and purchasing a Chilton repair manual, specific to your model. I always think it's a good idea to own a light repair manual if you're going to keep the car a while.
Good luck with the project! You can do it!!

Change the fuel filter and try adding a fuel system treatment to help clean your fuel system.

If the fuel filter and sparks are replaced-then the other possibility can be a bad injector or a bad ignition control module. Also get the fuel pressure checked in your ascender. If the fuel pressure is low then it can be possible that fuel pump is not holding charge and causing this problem. As you have replaced the fuel filter, but not the fuel pump.Get the fuel pressure checked, this will confirm the problem with fuel pump is there or its any other problem. If all that checked ok then get the alternator belt checked. If the belt is loose or worn out it can be the problem. If the alternator connections and alternator belt both checked out ok then the other possibility can be weak crankshaft sensor. Not faulty but weak crankshaft sensor. In this case the sensor needs to be removed then cleaned and reconnected and checked. Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation

1984. Why does it run fine during cold weather and sputter when it is warm and I punch the gas pedal?

could be low float level, low pump pressure/supply
blocked fuel filter
when cold the engine is running on choke setting which draws more fuel from the carby
when it is warm the choke is off and if you have a flat spot ( (sputter) , that indicates a lack of fuel or maybe a bad accelerator pump or power valve
if the carby is a holley then replace the power valve and overhaul the accelerator pump.

1994 Chevy 3500hd 6.5 turbo diesel starts then stalls. I have to pump the gas pedal a lot before it starts again. Once started, it runs rough. Specially when I step on the pedal.

As there is no connection between the accelerator pedal and the fuel system then pumping the pedal will have no effect.. I would be checking and bleeding the fuel system from the filter to the pump and checking for a leak in the fuel supply system. Hard starting and running rough is an indication of air in the pump and in the lines to the injectors.

98 chevy sub. k2500 to accelerate poorly

Likely a clogged fuel filter or defective fuel pump. Confirm correct fuel pressure with a gauge. If the pressure is low, remove the fuel filter and check for obstruction. If it's hard to blow through it, replace it with a new filter. Then retest the fuel pressure. If pressure is still low, then it's likely that you have a defective fuel pump.

1963 vw newly rebuilt engine, starts then dies at RPM acceleration

Could be one or both of two things.

1. The accelerator pump in the carb is clogged, the linkage is unhooked, or the diaphram in the pump is bad. It's cheap to replace and comes in the carb rebuild kit. This usually just causes hesitation when you step on the gas pedal. It doesn't usually cause the engine to stop running.

2. More likely is that the main jet in the carb is clogged. At idle, high vacuum under the closed throttle plate in the carb causes fuel to flow thru the idle jet. As the throttle plate opens (as you step on the pedal), the vacuum under the plate dissipates, stopping the flow of fuel thru the idle jet, and the vacuum ABOVE the throttle plate increases, which is supposed to then draw fuel from the carb bowl thru the main jet in the carb. If the main jet is clogged with dirt, then it can idle just fine and die as soon as you step on the pedal.

1991 1500 4x4 5.7 liter suburban. Will start and then die, like its not getting gas. Fuel pump has been checked, gas pressure regulator has been replaced, shop said hose from fuel tank to fuel pump had...

Yes, there is a Fuel Pump Relay. The Relay is located on the firewall just above the left-hand (even cyclinders) valve cover as viewed from the front of the car. There is also fuel pump test lead attached to the harness at the fuel pump relay. Attach a power wire from the battery to the lead and the fuel pump should come on. If fuel pump comes on, the relay could be bad. Also check the fuel filter located under the passenger side of the truck tucked into the frame rail.

You got fire and fuel .............. you may have water in your fuel system or your fuel injectors may be bad . Try some stp gas treatment before checking injectors .

Could be the fuel pump.My truck did this once.It would start right up and it would go as long as I didnt touch the gas pedal. When i hit the gas it would sputter and try to shut off untill I let off the gas. Some little shops might do a fuel pressure test cheap. If you think the the fuel is ok all you do is start replacing the stuff.Could be anything plugs, wires, coil, cap or rotor. If you have the money its good to replace that stuff anyway.Im sure its the pump though let me know.Good luck.
