IF the tubes are not deformed it should not be necessary. Most problems come from not replacing the grommets and seals every time the plugs are removed.

SOURCE: valve cover gasket leaking

When you buy the valve cover set, it will include the spark plug well "O" rings. Simply remove the valve cover and on the underside of the valve cover, you'll see the "O" rings that need replaced and you'll see exactly how the valve cover gasket itself fits.

SOURCE: 1999 Chrysler Sebring Coupe 2.5 oil in spark plug

It is possible the tubes are leaking at the bottom but highly unlikely. There is next to 0 oil pressure in that area so the tubes would actually drain if leaking. I would start with the tube seals and gaskets as you have already planned and check it again later down the road like at the next oil change interval. You're on the right track for the repair, just be patient with the intake plenum and you'll do fine.

SOURCE: I have a 2002 Nissan

Yes, you need a Rocker cover (valve cover) Gasket kit. Remove the valve cover, remove all old O-rings and cover gasket, clean grooves and mating surfaces without gouging or scratching them, put the new gaskets on as per factory recommendations, tighten to the proper torque and you're done. The spark plug holes in the cover are part of the valve cover gasket kit. Any Napa, Car Quest, Pep Boys, Auto Zone will have it.

Oil leaking on spark plug

If the spark plug is oil fouled, you either have leaking valve seals, or bad piston rings. Bad rings would be accompanied by excessive blow-by. With the engine running, remove your oil filler cap. If there is air pulsing out of the filler tube, it your rings. If not, it is your valve seals.

My car is a 95 Nissan Altima is jerking while idling and while driving. There is oil in the area where the spark plugs are. The distrubtor does not seem to be working either.

You need to replace the valve cover gasket.Under the valve cover are four tubes that the spark plugs fit down into. between these tubes and the inside of the valve cover is a series of round gaskets that fit on these tubes. When they get old they leak oil into these tubes.replace spark plugs and wires when you do the job, they are most likely finished. Its a nice job for a Saturday morning, about an hour. Good Luck

What would cause my 2001 nissan altima gxe to have oil in the plug cylinder ?? It's only in one and the plug is not oil fouled.

Most likely a worn ring or valve seal. You'll have to check the compression to be sure which problem it is. If the compression is normal then the seal is most likely leaking. If the compression is low then the ring is worn.

How to easily replace the spark plug gaskets on a 95 paseo?

Do you mean the spark plug tubes are filling with oil?
If so, remove all 4 plug wires (note where they go) remove the nuts at the top of the spark plug tubes... remove valve cover, and replace 4 tube gaskets and the valve cover gasket. (usually 1 kit)

Oil in spark plug well 02 nissan maxima what could cause this

On the DOHC: The Spark Plug Tube Seals (Washers) on the Valve Cover has developed a leak.
Install new seals.
Remove the Valve Cover to Install the Seals.
If the Valve Cover Gasket have not been replaced recently, go ahead and replace them as well, making sure you clean thoroughly BOTH surfaces before installing any new Seal Washers and Gasket.

98 Volvo V70 Turbo engine oil leak

It may be the gromet for the PCV valve or it could be the spark plug rubber seal located in the valve cover if it is the type of engine that has the wires and spark plugs that go down through the valve cover, if this is the case buy a valve cover gasket with the rubber gromets that are located around the base of the hole where spark plugs fit through and install.
