A warning light came on in my 2010 Fusion yesterday just after 10 am and the manual read:Airbag readiness: If this light fails to illuminate when the ignition is turned to on, continues to flash or remains on, contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible. A chime will sound when there is a malfunction in the indicator light. But the light went off at 9 this morning while I was driving to work. Should I bother to conatact the dealership?

hi with the engine running at idle .get a multimeter and check for a voltage of between 13.5 volts and 14.7 at the battery terminals lower than 13.5 or higher than 14.7 replace alternator.

I had a 2002 model 1.4 Fiesta, same problem Engine management light or
ECA, electronic accelaration Control (EAC), it needs a ford dealer to do
a computer diagnostic, most likely that it will need replaced.
Mt friend who is a mechanic for ford said that it was a common factory
fault and is very common in 1.4 zetec /duratec petrol models.
I now have a 2007 Fusion and was quick to see if this problem had been sorted on this model, and it has!!

My guess is a faulty switch at door for turning off interior lights/door closed, which is giving chime that door is still open

Here's a quick check list for most common cost of SRS / Air bag problem.
Dirty contacts on driver and passenger seat belt buckles
Dirty contacts on seat belt connectors (under seats)
Dirty contacts on driver and passenger sides weight sensors (under seat)
Seat covers
Weight on passenger seat
(Example: grocery package trigger SRS / Air Bag light on the way home.)
I recommend you to pass an vacuum over the contacts and use CRC electronic parts cleaner to rule out connectivity
problem.
I DO NOT disconnecting the negative battery connector to clean the code(s)
Without the code(s) the dealer will takes "BILLABLE" time to reproduce the problem.
