When reversing, whining noise comes from right tire area, have replaced wheel bearing and brakes. Does not make noise in drive, just in reverse.

Jack up the front end and put stands under it and block rear wheels. Look at axle boots and see if they are cracked. Try turning wheel back and forth sharply and see if you can hear any clicking. Problem could be outer axle joints. If the boots are cracked or you hear a clicking noise you will have to replace the axle. The axle and boot come as a complete unit. Please let me know what you find out.

I have the same exact model, same year and the same problem at 52,000 miles. Did changing the brake pads solve the problem? Because I hope thats all it is...
SOURCE: roaring noise form front tire
How do you know the front tires aren't pulling? That's the first thing we need to know. 2nd does this roar happen when in 2wd? or just in 4wd? and is it 4wd part time? full time? or 4low? Does it do it all speeds? Mileage also would be helpful and when did this start?
