My car is running as normal but my check engine light came on. I took it to auto zone where they told me that I had to go to a dealer, they told me it was p0444. I am trying to avoid the dealer. I had it reset once before, I drove 800+ miles before it came on again, I had a tune up done two months ago... any suggestions?

get a new coolant temperature sensor.

the orginal black ones are faulty.

make sure it is the green topped one.

also do a normal tune up with spark plugs, clean the maf, maybe replace coils packs.

go to a shop and see if there is a code stored in memory. anything else would just be a blind guess. If you are near an Autozone that do a scan for free

Major auto parts stores have code readers and will read out your codes for free. The engine light indicates that at least one code is waiting to be read.
