Nissan had problems during this year with the gas gauges intermittently working across their entire range of cars including the Infinitis. This is probably 2 separate issues.
Did you buy a remanufactured fuel pump? Ebay aftermarket? If so, you may have to just buy a OEM one and have it installed at a dealership. It may cost more now but it is better than getting a "deal" now then having a tow bill from the side of the road another year from now.

SOURCE: the gas gauge is still

Hi have you had the fuel sender unit replaced this is located in the top of the tank, the most faults with fuel gauge not working is the fuel sender unit its usually the float attatched to it that leaks and then always read an empty tank, the fuel pump does not affect the gauge even without a fuel pump fitted the gauge will still work, now if you have replaced the sender unit then the chances are the problem is with the fuel gauge itself, have you tried banging on the dashboard where the fuel gauge is sometimes it sticks and giving the display a bang where the fuel gauge is frees it up so give it a bang and see if it moves, failing that the problem is going to be fuel sender or less likely faulty fuel gauge.

My wifes 2003 nissan cranks over but wont start. i removed backseat cover and checked power at the wiring harness, i didnt get any power at all, i checked the fuse panel but nothing is marked that says...

you need to check for power as soom as you turn the key. you loose power afterabout 7 seconds after turning the key to "ACC position". there is a relay in system that shuts off tha power to the pump after about 7 seconds or so. personally I think that you have an issue with the sending unit. xterra has a campaign for sending ubit replacement, because they corrode on the inside of the connection on top where tha connector plugs in under the seat that you took out. This is what you will do: have someone crank the vehicle as you move the 2 wire connector on top of the gas tank. it may start. If not, then take your vin number to the nissan dealer and see if it applies for the sending unit replacement. you may even need new gas tank which is covered under the campaign if its too rotted on top.

My xterra shows code 463. The fuel gauge is not working right. What should I be checking? Do I have to remove the gas tank to repair it?

Put--- ( nissan recalls & problems) --- in your search engine

You won't like what you read

The dealer may replace the sending unit, as all fuel
tanks are deformed ,all radiators leak, etc, not good

Xterra car quit running. had no spark @ distributor. replaced crank sensor and got spark. no gas pressure. replaced fuel pump, new one do not work. no power to it. checked fuses/relays, no luck. ran...

Yes, there is fuel pump relay, which is generally located on the passenger side kick panel. But in your case, the fuel pump relay on 2002 model Xterra is indeed located under the dash around the steering wheel, but no you don't need to remove the cover just lay in floor and you can see it, it will slide off a bracket and you can remove and replace it.
Good Luck!

Fuel gauge on my 2006 Nissan Frontier

You're in luck
There is a possible recall on 2005-2008 nissan frontier/pathfinder and xterra, for erratic/inaccurate or
inoperative fuel gauge. This is the part# for the fuel gauge sending unit in question is #25060-ZS00A
Give your local nissan dealer and they should be able
to help you out. The reference number should be
#NTB07-069 AND 069A Hope this helps.

2005 Nissan Xterra gas gauge reads empty when full of gas.

Sending unit died. can be expencive to replace since most sending units are integral with the fuel pump now. lots of labor too. Better to use the trip odometer till you can afford a day without your car and a $600.00 +labor repair bill.

Cranks but won`t start will start with starting fliud for a few

fuel problem then .either a plugged fuel filter or the fuel pump is not working .. if you were to shoot a little fuel into the throat of the throttle body or air cleaner area you say it will run .? if so you are not getting fuel up to there . sounds like maybe a possable pump . always replace cheapest thing first like filter .. thanks Jerry holler if you need more.
