Replace the engine as the oil will be in the internals of the coolant system and will be very hard to get out. Oil and water do not mix and the oil getting around the cooling areas of the cylinders and head would prevent the heat transfer to the water as oil doesn't transfer heat very well

Your dip stick tube is your fill tube for your transmission . Make sure your transmission oil is at opperating temp before servicing some instructions are written on the dip stick , Use a small funnel , Add a little at a time (cup). Use the proper fluid , check regularly

SOURCE: High oil Consumption, BMW M5

Look for Castrol TWS 10W60 Motor Oil. This car should not burn so much oil, you need to use a different kind. It is recommended by BMW as well. I also heard the VANOS isnt an issue anymore, can be fixed with a different MAFF. Good luck!

SOURCE: Coolant overheating

I'm not a peugeot guy butr the only item in the cooling system that would require a bearing or bushing is the pump...check shaft for side and end play. Only other possibility is that someone recently worked on it and accidentally caused a leak, or found one and used so much sealer that it plugged the radiator (some sealers have a fine powder that resembles what you described)

SOURCE: BMW X3 2.5si M series. High Oil Consumption

hi, this consumption seems high, i would take it to a dealer and ask them to check the oil sensor.......
P.S. is there a lot of smoke coming from the exhaust, if so, it may be burning a little oil, ask dealer to check it

SOURCE: Oil disappearing with no visible leaks and engine not using oil.

Check out this thread and take your Caddy for a couple of Wide Open Throttle runs on the Interstate. Clears out the carbon buildup on the rings that is causing oil blowby.

Brand new Diesel water pump 296cc 4 stroke the recoil starter has seized. I have used a 4 stroke 10w-30 semi synthetic oil. Ideas on how to fix this please? Dave

you have to determine the reason for the seizure
check the following
remove injector and see if the engine turns over--hydraulic lock from water or diesel ( leaking injector)
remove the pump housing and check for a blockage --stone, stick etc --in the impeller stopping the engine from turning over
10w -30 is a light oil and I would be using 20w 40 diesel oil instead of the petrol oil you have used

Low oil pressure/ guage fluxuates but runs low

Sounds like a valve lifter or in queens english a hydraulic tappet ,Now what i used to do on the rover V8 was to add a tin of gunk brand name exterior engine cleaner and then let customer have the car back and do some miles,or as soon as the noise stopped ,then change the oil and filter and add the diesel/petrol turbo engine oil as this is detergent and then change the oil every 5/6000 miles with a oil filter every third oil change ,if no engine cleaner then try half a litre of diesel or just change the oil for one detergent type diesel engine oil you will not hurt the engine using this oil the cheaper it is the better as well .In extreme cases i give a 2 second squirt of fairy washing up liquid to the oil as well ,has to be fairy mind them cheapos are no good for this job .Stop worring about it and just do as i say

What is a alternative oil rated at API SG/SD oil for xj6 jaguar

i have a XJ6 4.0lt and i use the cheapest diesel/petrol engine oil i can buy ,has to be a diesel (turbo) /petrol oil so it cleans the inside of the engine ,20/50 is good enough or 10/40 and then i change the oil every 5000 miles regardless of time interval as i only use this vehicle for a sunday drive or to a classic reunion ,You do not need expensive oil you would be surprissed what they use in a garage and and what you pay for it .synthetic or natural is ok and its ok to mix them ,change the oil filter every third oil change .Cannot afford to drive this car all the time as petrol is now costing 1.59 euros a LITRE work that out into dollars

HARD METALLIC TAPPING ON JAGUAR XJ 2.7 DIESEL ESPECIALLY WHEN COLD OR AFTER BEING STOOD

hydraulic tappets by the sound of it ,three squirts of fairy liquid into engine oil and some diesel say about half a pint then run engine for a couple of days then when noise stops change the oil and filter ,if oil hasnt been changed for ages then when hot and ready to change add some more diesel say a litre then let engine idle for ten minutes and then drop oil .then change oil every 6000 miles with a oil filter every thrid oil change ,Use the cheapest oil you can buy say a 10/40 but even a monograde of 30 or 40 will do ,do not use expensive long life oil as it just causes the engine to clagg up inside bolcking the oil ways causing this sort of problem ,if in the uk then shell rotella is a reasonable priced oil and its a good oil

85 f250 diesel won't start when hot.Pour a cup of ice water on injector pump and it starts everytime????why

Sounds like the injector pump gets to hot and seizes up. it may just be an old pump. I was told years ago to put 1 quart of Automatic tranny fluid in a full tank of diesel to help lube the injector pump. I did that to my 1995 powerstroke at 130,00 miles when I had to replace the injector pump. And I have over 500,000 miles on the engine now and have not had to replace the pump since. I hope this helps please rate this

Diesel oil

Yes you can use conventional oil, but it will mean more frequent oil changes at least every 3,000 miles, also engine wear is much less with synthetic oil, almost zero in fact, but if you change cars before 100,000 miles that is not an issue. I have a car, a Chevy Corvette that uses synthetic oil, I watch ads for sales and rebates, got 3 cases (18 quarts) for $18.00 US after rebates, these are major brands like Mobil 1
