Look for Castrol TWS 10W60 Motor Oil. This car should not burn so much oil, you need to use a different kind. It is recommended by BMW as well. I also heard the VANOS isnt an issue anymore, can be fixed with a different MAFF. Good luck!
SOURCE: Coolant overheating
I'm not a peugeot guy butr the only item in the cooling system that would require a bearing or bushing is the pump...check shaft for side and end play. Only other possibility is that someone recently worked on it and accidentally caused a leak, or found one and used so much sealer that it plugged the radiator (some sealers have a fine powder that resembles what you described)
SOURCE: BMW X3 2.5si M series. High Oil Consumption
hi, this consumption seems high, i would take it to a dealer and ask them to check the oil sensor.......
P.S. is there a lot of smoke coming from the exhaust, if so, it may be burning a little oil, ask dealer to check it

Check out this thread and take your Caddy for a couple of Wide Open Throttle runs on the Interstate. Clears out the carbon buildup on the rings that is causing oil blowby.
