Replace bumper Is the rear bumper attached to the side panel? I need to replace a rear bumper for this car. Is it easy to replace? Is it attached to any other part of the car?

If you ask at a bodywork repair shop, they will tell you what is required by name.
Try not to buy Jaguar parts as they are grosly overpriced. They are the same as the Ford parts.

The bumper5 cover is something you could switch out...the quarter panel needs a pro body shop as it involves welding and refinishing.

replacing a quarter panel is no easy task. it is spot welded all around the perimeter. To do it properly you will need to remove the rear window, the quarter glass, the trunk lid, rear panel, tail light, bumper cover, rear wheel, and inner wheel panel liner. every spot weld found will need to be cut, but only thru the outer panel. You do not want to cut all of the way thru both panels as you need to have something to attach the new panel to. After all welds are cut, there are welds under where the back window and quarter window go, and there are also welds in the sail panel that is between the quarter and rear windows where the quarter meets the roof panel. After all welds are cut and cleaned up you will want to cover all bare metal with a zinc based primer. You will want to drill holes all around the perimeter of the new panel and attach it to the vehicle with clamps or self tapping screws temporarily until you weld the new panel in place. You will want to fill in the holes you drilled in the new panel welding to the panel underneath. once all is attached you can remove the clamps or tap screws, if you used screws weld these holes as well, then grind everything smooth. finish up with a bit of body work especially at the sail panel where it meets the top, prime, sand, and now you might be ready for a trip to the paint shop.

autozone will have that replacement hardware in the body aisle its usually some assorted bolts, and plastic clips''if the car needs moved to get there, may need to wire tie it up enough or remove entirely to go there(or any closer parts or body shop.

unfasten the still attached side safely and stretch the swiped side and rereplace the screws and use super glue to securely attach it back on ththe car

There are six bolts from the bumper into the rear cross member to remove, accessible from inside the boot. You'll have to remove the rubber plugs to get to two of them. After that, remove the boot lining (that's the "trunk" lining if you're a Yank) and you'll see four bolts (two on each side) that secure the bumper by screwing downwards through the metal wing into the top sides of the bumper. Now go underneath the car, and there are two bolts accessible at the rear of the bumper, accessible from beneath. Now you need to uncrew a pair of 10mm plastic nuts under the wheel arch lining/mudflap and two which are behine the rear wheels. Fold the wheel arch lining away from the bumper and there's a screw in the very front of the sides of the wing right at the point where it connects to the wheel arch. remove these (one on each side) and the bumper will slide backwards and off the body. Voila. Piece of cake. Remember to disconnect the wiring to the rear sensors and pull the multiplug through out of the hole, carefully removing the grommet.

Re-fitting is a bit trickier, so use a couple of beer crates or boxes to hold the bumper up below the rear as you line up the tabs on the air exits and slide the bumper back.

Its actually pretty easy to replace the rear bumper. I don't think you should have any problems doing it yourself. If I remember right I think there is only like 6 or 8 nuts that hold it on. 2 one each of the side and a couple in the middle. Just need to pull the spare tire out of the way. There may be a couple of gps antenna connections to disconnect.

go on the botton close to the fender there are some screws there also check there are not steal bars attached to the frame of the car

there is a trim panel on top of rear bumper if you look underneath there are clips that go through metal bumper also there are 4 plastic fasteners that will need to be replaced after removing best to get clips at dealer cheap enough hope this helps ya

Removing Prowler Rear Bumpers First remove the four 10 MM bolts holding the trans cooler and drop it down. Support it by attaching one bolt to the lower hole on the cooler frame. This will keep the weight off the lines. This takes two min. and allows easy removal of the elect. lines. Then remove the four bolts on each bumper. The bolts are 13MM and 17MM. You will need a ratchet, sockets, extension and a 13MM open end wrench. If you remove the rear bumpers, you should replace the rear pan with one of the aftermarket ones otherwise you will have big holes staring at the people behind you.
